The Elephant Calls

Sunday August 26, 2012 (11.38 am)

Nacy and Tina Asante singing softly in the background… (Amansan enb3 hw3 m3).

Yes I also listen to Gospel music (hahaaa). But I do not really like the ones that focus too much on suffering, pain, witchcraft, etc.  It is as if to serve God  these days or to know that He is powerful you must wallow in squalor and abject poverty. I believe the word of God is to inspire hope, faith and a sense of purpose in your life especially on this world. But then again that is me! What do i know?  But I  really love Nacy of  No Tribe his voice is amazing and his songs of worship are to die for.  Apart from the song playing in the background i love his Aseda tune.

Well this song definitely sets the mood for what I am writing. I do not know what to call it. A letter, a story, an upliftment piece…hahaaa but all I know is I have to put my thoughts down to encourage my friends and family of the Great New Patriotic Party on the platforms of Twitter and Facebook. Yes, great party with a strong and resounding motto: Development in Freedom.

As I said earlier this is not of those open letters that people write to seek attention and create controversy. I do not even have the energy to write those kinds of letters. It is just yours truly calling you to rally around what we believe in.  The Atiglini  is calling ( that is how the Ewes call the elephant :)Because if you are a son and daughter of the great party NPP, if you believe in the traditions laid down to us by our great Danquah, Busia and Dombo then it’s time to fall in line. It is time to step up and be counted. It is time to attempt to implement that audacity of hope our new team and leadership seek to implement. I call it the audacity of hope because Nana Addo simply inspires me to hope in Ghana once more. No No...I am not saying i was some morose girl before I saw Nana Addo, I am saying i see the leadership, hope and prosperity through his eyes. That is not to say Nana Addo is a saint, an angel or a prophet...infact I do not want him to be either. I want him in his human form to so he understands the plight and destiny of this nation.
Enough of the dramatic okyena mewu leadership. We have endured almost four years of an overwhelming leadership deficiency. Yes all sort of things have happened in this country, people doing and saying as they please…policy, critical leadership, drive, audacity and courage thrown to the marines! ENOUGH!!!  And frankly at the pace that which the world is moving and has moved, I am soo impatient with all the bootlicking answers and questions.

Our journey with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo started in 2008 election when he stood for election alongside 16 other members to vie for flag bearer which he won. He further led the party into election ,won the first round and later lost to Prof Mills (may be find everlasting peace) in a runoff. My focus starts from the first round which Nana Addo won. That is the sign that our candidate is worth selling, he is worth trying out again. And dont you forget that. In that election so many things worked against us but most importantly we took everything for granted…but for me it’s ok. Yes sometimes you need to fall and come back again. A part of the learning process called Life.

It is time again; it is time to rally around the NPP flag, the party and our leader because he needs us. He needs us to be very intelligent and articulate in our answers, He needs us to focus on issues that will bring development and understand them properly, He needs us not insult and instigates attacks, and He needs us to convince a person a day (yes!) on why the party is the best alternative for Ghana. He also needs us to tell the truth at all times, not to overpromise, not to bring his campaign into disrepute and above all believe in him.  Honestly if you do not believe in him then there is no point leaving your room to sell his vision. It will not be easy, you will be pushed to the wall, you will be asked all sorts of questions, teased, insulted, but at the end of the day you need to standout confidently. Keep in mind that Ghanaians are gradually getting tired of politics, the opportunistic tendency our leaders are not ashamed to flaunt and the tricks that come with it. Our actions and inactions must truly reflect our purpose. The purpose to move Ghana forward.

I wish all of us well. I wish Ghana well and I hope by the end of 7th December the resounding vote is loud and clear that we will not waste our time on people who act like they have nothing to lose.  If they do not we do, yes we have everything to lose. The destiny of this nation is at stake. That being said let us have a peaceful mindset in all we do. Not everyone can afford to live outside this country

PS. As I did on my Twitter and Facebook accounts the other time, I will emphasis here and now that I not be paid a dime to do this. And because I haven’t been paid I am soo free to come and go as I please. Conscience free and full of purpose.  It is like falling in love and staying in love, you will do absolutely everything from your heart, make mistakes, move on but never let go especially when you appreciate what you have...winks

Have a good week everybody,

Love

Me.
