Forget the Gold.

Woyo-azonto. Gold- azonto. Much ado about nothing. That is exactly what it is. I remember how nauseated I was that we or is it rather that the state could not rise up in all its glory and collect money that was wrongfully taken from it coffers in the name of financial engineering. I was sick to my stomach infact still am that the state is dancing to some aloof tune...umm the state cannot find witnesses to prosecute this case. I mean how. It does not make sense or I am the one exaggerating?!
If I could not find any joy within my own country how much more when the issue is beyond the shores of Ghana. come on.

What else can I expect when some 1.5 ton of gold happens to get seized by Turkish authorities then it happens to get released and finds it way into Iran.
Mind you, an article currently on the VOA news website with focus on the Middle East tells a nice story of how banks in Turkey continue to send gold to Iran despite U.S. pressure to curb a booming gold-for-gas trade, which helps Iran skirt international sanctions(story by Dorian Jones-dated 24th January 2013).

So let me tell you what I expect..... nothing less of a denial by the state, by its officials especially at the ministry of finance, by everybody at the airport. Yes and that is what I got. Finite. Case close. An aircraft left the shores of this land with 1.5 tons of Gold and nobody knows anything. Soo cool. But not soo cool because I will not hear my favourite ex propaganda sec/deputy minister of finance and economic planning/ minister of state at the presidency in charge of finance and its allied institutions and an honourable member of parliament Hon. Fiavi Kwettey talk about how all the gold reserves are finished. (laughter) Oh yes...I remember hon. Fiavi telling the whole Ghana that Ex. President Kufuor had sold all the gold reserves. I guess we borrowed this gold (engulfing laughter). My advice to you who might be sad about this is to simply it. We are even lucky to be hearing about this. What about the ones you have not heard...all the things that have passed through our borders. Adopt the see no evil, hear no evil, watch no evil mentality. Unless of course, the 1.5 tons of gold is your missing gold....
Just forget the gold. it will not come back today or tomorrow. They have done Ghana antenna.

Anyways I did not come to write plenty about some 1.5 ton of Gold.... I am writing this post to tell you about a programme my friend and I are producing on VIASAT 1. It is titled MONEY MATTERS
before I talk about the programme, join me in applauding the brain behind the concept. Mr. Elorm Mensa. He is simply fantastic. To have the dream is one thing, to put it together (and try to tolerate me )is no small feat. Clap clap applause. Elorm kindly take a bow....(whispering* he is very shy).
But seriously, you and I agree that money tends to rule the world we live in. It is a major if not the major determinant in providing security be it food, clothing, shelter, services etc. In as much as we are told there are opportunities around to make us financially stable, the environment we operate in is not condusive enough.

Yes we are told that we are the next generation of Bill Gates, but Bill Gates himself will have suffocated in Ghana, if he had dropped out of school here. We are told that if you have a solid business plan and you will definately have a financial backing but seriously does that work in this country...we simply want to let that side of the golden age of entrepreneurship be heard. But there will be other topics...all topics that are relevant to every day living. The pilot for season is this friday. No I will not be on televison...Elorm Mensa will be your host. It will this Friday at 12 noon. Please be our critics. We want to know it all the good bad and ugly. umm more good tho...haha just kidding. But seriously do watch. I expect each one of you to note down all the every day hussles with finances that you want discussed.
We need to know that we are giving out the right information and most importantly we are discussing relevant topics.

It is almost time for Ghana to play Niger. Ooo I am panicking. I have placed a bet on my national team and knowing how they can break you ^&*()$#%^@@ER$%^^. (slaps faces) No I will not give up osseyy Black Stars, Ossey my Ghc 300 bet with Anny Osabutey aka the thorn in my flesh. But i am loving Asamoah Gyan. He refuses to play penalties. Man does not like any wahala.

Have a good evening and remember this friday. 12 noon.

PS. I cannot decide which makes me more nervous.....the Black Star match or you watching the show this Friday. Nerves, nerves!!!
