Now I am getting annoyed. Yes NaaBia the lone ranger is annoyed. We are doing it all over again. Yes we have gone and made another man popular than he already is. I remember how upset I was when Prof Mills (RIP) passed away only for a tide articles to emerge. Articles penned by people showing off their ability to walk through corridors of power. It was very disrespectful at least to me. I did not blame them tho because hey they felt important and justified, we made them important. How? Every single day a story in our media about them, stories about their prophesies, stories about their escapades, intertwining them with our national fabric when they had no right to be there. So yes I was happy, not with Prof gone the way he exited but happy that all these hangers on will have no place in the new government be it the party I believe in or not. The emperor whoever that might be would definitely have to have new clothes. Covers face....boy some new clothes this new emperor of my country has!!!!
Knock! knock! Whose there?...enter Andrew Solomon.
Who is Andrew Solomon? Andrew Solomon is the President of Ghana's friend (deal with it). Andrew Solomon is gay and married (deal with it). Andrew Solomon is an advocate for rights for same sex couples (deal with it). And why are we talking about him? I do not know! Why are we making him so relevant that he feels he has to write an article in the New York Times justify himself and throw the presidency into a state of he said, she said, they said, I said....why?. So now he will be down as Andrew Solomon who is besties with the President of Ghana. His claim to the little fame he has. Come on people. Why? Yes I am asking you, maybe you can explain to me. Why the urge to discuss him. Of all the things we have to deal with. Anyways this will be the first and last time I discuss him. I do not support same sex marriages, I love my man too much. I love my ability to make babies for him too much to be thinking about that and so yes, I will also not waste my time over what someone does in his or her room or publicly( umm I think as for publicly the same sex people and the normal sex people are in the same boat). I simply will not. I believed then and still believe now that everyone one will answer for their sin. Every one will atone. So it is a simple matter of leaving them be. Deal with it.
The last time I wrote this on my wall on Facebook I was called a disappointment (my second battle wound... hahaa) by my friend Kwame Boafo Akufo and ummm some term like a posh elite. Posh elite according to Kwame is a person who accepts wrongs such as this. Really? OK.
Who said if you come out beating war drums then it makes it go away, it does not. You are dealing with humans though some of you call them dogs. The harsh reality is you rather create sympathy, you rather make them popular, you rather make them ride on the waves of your fury. Such a situation must fiercely. It is not screaming values and bible quotations that makes it better. It is by teaching good values as you and I were taught and as we know them especially to the young ones around us. Our brothers, sisters, uncles, nephews everybody who is growing and coming unto his or her own. It is only by educating people, by embracing people enough to pray for them and intercede on their behalf that you can begin to make a difference. But you still have to leave the rest to God.
Because honestly there is sin. Unimaginable sin (plus that) going on in this country and world large and yes you can only do so much. Who are you to judge? who are you to weigh one over the other...kindly put all on the same pedestal and attack with the same fury. Try and believe in the Ghanaian conservativeness. It will not be legalised. A friend said online that I should be there, it might happen...this situation has been with us from old our parents had it happening in their time, we also have it happening in our time what shows it is not time to legalise. I simply told him with the greatest conviction I could muster....well we have had prostitutes from old you don't see anyone in parliament drafting a bill in support of that. Or prostitution is a lesser sin?
And as for the President...all you can do is to leave it to his conscience. Whether he met Andrew Solomon and his "wife" at a wedding or not, whether he call him to apologise after Hon. Ayariga misspoke or not..it is up to him and his conscience. If all the time H.E. Prof Mills (RIP) was vehemently opposing it (yes I recall the disgust on his face when he answered a question on this during meet the press at the castle) he had Andrew as helping him with his book. Don't you wonder if the good old Prof ever met him and shook his hands without knowing who he was talking to. Or what he does or in this case didn't know would not hurt him eh? ( hahahahaha...one has simply got to laugh over these things sometimes). Leave new Oga alone, his conscience will do its work.
By the way new Oga ummm when are you going to sort out the doctors. Yes! Yes! the doctors are on strike and we need them back. Deal with it. I can afford a private hospital but I absolutely support them. You know why? It is not fair that you increase your salaries (executive and legislature) and throw the humanity card in their faces. It is not happening this time. Then reduce your salary so that everybody will be humanised (haha). They need the money.
Please tell your people not to start politics with this because elections is over (right?! hahahaa) so no propaganda that NPP is influencing them. Fix the broken single spine. Just pay up. Please tell your people that this is not a case of people dying because honestly you can die anytime... nothing to do with doctors. I am not heartless. I am tired of my country and our "blind" leaders. I hope the teachers strike next, I hope the nurses join, I hope labour as a whole joins because Lord knows there is money in the Republic of Ghana. If there is money to pay judgement debts, money send our national team to and fro, money to spend on committees of all sorts and pay allowances, money to pay salaries of workers of GRIDco, ECG, GWL, money to spend party supporters to South Africa to watch football....ah then there is plenty money. Doctors do not go to work. Your claim is not in heaven, your claim is here on earth. Gye sika no, pesewas koraa gyi (collect the money, no matter how little)
If anybody says it is in heaven ask them how they know if you will go to heaven...don't laugh. I am serious.
Winding down....I want the new Pope to be black, tell the Papacy or Popedom for me. His name is Peter Turkson. No I am not catholic but I still want. Deal with it.
Have a good evening people.
Traffic beckons.
