Sleepy eyes, runny nose, slight headache. Yes that is me this morning. I did not escape the harmattan o, whilst i escaped the blistered lips and dry skin i have got a raging cold.
Still cannot believe it. Dry horrible weather...blistering barnacles!!! Forget about my cold, lets move onto exciting things.
Lots of excitement in Ghana my beloved country. I am at work so i cannot see anything but i am close to the independent square and the sirens are having a field day today. As for those with sirens there must be a public order act that binds them, now empty cars sirens attached just blow sirens to dodge traffic. *frown* And considering how some of the roads are narrow that can be so so annoying. Maybe i should make a new year resolution and attach a siren. Like i will have a field day.
Umm back to topic, as i said there is a new sheriff coming into town today. Today the 7th of January 2013 is the day set aside constituitonally (emphasis on 7th January) to swear in the President of the Republic of Ghana. The new sheriff is H.E. John Dramani Mahama, he is to become the 4th president of the 4th Republic of Ghana. Now that is a cool title. No?!
This election, its declaration and its swearing in has been with lots of incidence. As i currently write this, men and women have converged at the entrance of Ex. H.E. Prez John Agyekum Kufuor in a bid to stop him from attending the inaugration ceremony. Before i get into that, i know you will want to know what i am feeling at this moment.
I am disappointed. I am human and naturally I am crushed that my candidate Hon. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is not been sworn in the President. But i always take things in my stride. Life is short. You have to. I have learnt early in life that the bigger picture is always what matters...so i will not dwell on the dissappointment that happens here and now, i will focus on the lessons that this will bring. What has been established clearly is that our electoral process needs a revamp. We have progressed immensly yes but we need to do more. As for the other details that the party leadership of the NPP seek from the court..*broad smile* that will be something wouldnt it? But lets wait and see. Lots of drama, it will be. I already hear that Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata is leading the pack. Thank the heavens. I sure know we do not need to D Annan-ise this.
Well, well, well....makes it more interesting doesnt it. I really do not know if it is a psychological thing that the legal team of the NDC seeks to do but ahem....the last time we had a Tsikata and Akufo Addo encounter there was....No! i will not tell you, why must i always do the konkonsa. Dear reader of my blog at this moment, please go and find out. Mope saa. Thank you.
Sailing through to the people infront of H.E. Ex. Prez Kufuor's home...hmm what do i say. It is hard, it is painful but leave him be. I get and share the frustrations that they have. Because the principle is you are either with us or against us. But at the same time, you cannot force him especially when he has made up his mind. Emphasis- he has made up his mind.He says he is going in his capacity as Ex. President and truth of the matter is he is. You can only do soo much. People must learn to have extra thick skin. Is the teasing or is the ridicule? What havent you heard during the past four years? Why does anything that comes out suprise anybody anymore? Just look at the recent one, because the NPP is boycotting Hon Joe Ghartey wouldnt be given the seat as deputy speaker...such pettiness. Why? Do we now do tit for tat here. Especially at the highest levels of the executive. I was going to be very surprised if it happened. Thank God, it didnt. Seriously when i saw those loudly championing it..i just rolled my eyes. Yawn! Next.
Yes he will go but it will not change any alphabet on the petition at the Supreme Court.
Someday with the permission of Patrick (because he is an intergral part of the story) i will tell you why things do not bother me, then peharps you will understand why i really do not look up to anyone unless i want to look up to God..That is your best armour against all the daily encounters in life. Nipa di33..You can stop him from going but the at end of the day..the fact will still remain that he wanted to go. So let him be. Just let him be. Respect his wishes.
Well Big Oga...welcome. You might never get to meet me, but please..I am already introducing you to my space. In Ghana, the bark stops at the President, so Oga everything i will leave at your door. yep the good, the bad and the ugly. I already hear them calling you humble. With all due respect, throw that humble somewhere. Let there be a firm grip mind you not a tyrannical one but let us go to sleep knowing that JDM is incharge, I am sure tired of having some director of communication asserting some faux sanctions on us. I hope you change some people if you ask me that ministry of info needs a revamp. And there is some horrible stench at Achimota. And ummm Accra is dark..streetlights your excellency. Dont mind the Tema Motorway people...our street light! terrible, come on during the day...go off at night. it is sad!! Water?! And please.... Now wait a minute...have i already started giving him my list. haha. Let me stop, let him be sworn in. We will do this later. Eish my online stalker says Oga is wearing some serious agbadaa. eishhh enye easy koraa. Aunty Lordina's hips in kaba. ei Oga!
Have a good day people.
Traffic is going to be something today...those of us working in Accra...sob sob sniff sniff ( i hate colds).
