Life and its Issues...

Today has been very somber. My collegue nearly lost her mum due high blood pressure. Almost had a heart attack. I watched how she run to her car, full of tears screaming on the phone urging her dad to be upbeat. hmmm. I know how that feels....5 years ago my brother and I run to a neighbours house pounding on the door " Papa is not moving, he says his ears are buzzing, he says his left side is numb". I remember that day so well, Annabelle took me back into time. (Snap back to the present)Kindly note that I said nearly, her mum is fine and responding to treatment. Been crazy like hell in the office, doing two jobs all at once and its a Monday. But her mother stable...makes it sure worth.

Today I was pretty excited, I was about go on a tirade about unecessary stuff we do at weddings. Spending the whole day at a wedding? Why?. I went for a wedding on Sunday. Yes, my bosom friend for 24 years..Akosua Birago Boateng (Mrs Akosua Owusu Krofah) tied the knot. I was so psyched to gush about the wedding, how simple it was, started on time, ended on time, no shouting, no whoop whoop during the service (only at the when Isaac was removing the veil...even that simple and straightforward) it was so simple the hymans were just two. I guess that is why we have maintained our friendship over the years...we have the same principle. "Less is more". I am told that Father Campell of Christ The King Chapel has this hilarious yet

But she is the quiet one, I am the loud one. Opposites do attract. Cheers to true, no hidden motives friendship. I sure will gush about her and Isaac when i begin to upload the pictures. And yes yes...She has known Isaac for the same years I have known Patrick..9 strong years. (beaming smile) and the song she danced to ah you should have seen me waving my handkerchief..totally love the chorus.

chorus: Oye Oye mekoraa sore to dwom se oye
             Oye Oye Oye Oye Oye

Translation : It is good(2x) my soul rises sings and says it is good
                   :It is good(5x)
Ummm the full song, please forgive me...i really do not want to massacre the Akan language( Andy Abrokwah stop coughing) but it is a popular praise and worship song. If you dont like church then ummm...sorry then you will not know what I am talking about.
But Life is something, Sunday was joyous all laughter, hugs anticipating a year from now her first child then Monday...a life almost lost. Whew!!

Two things caught my attention on my way to work this morning. I have not had the time to take a look at the stories making the headlines because of how my day has gone but umm H.E. President Mahama says he has how many witnesses to testify for him in court? 4, 500. hahhhaaa!! You have got to be kidding me. But what is that? I am sure the judges will be laughing in their chambers. probably texting each other saying see the NDC and NPP muumuus. We will show them all, yes we don't   have light, no water, no street lights and they say what petition alongside 4500 witnesses.
But it must be a huge headache to be a Ghanaian supreme court judge eh? But wait  a minute. I am sure the other judges are  soo jealous. hmm all the others are getting attention ala Atuguba. hehheeehe.  But yes now that everybody has responded, we have the full set of idiots right?..(umm only Oga is distingushed, rest are idiots...before Dumevi and co decide to report me). Wednesday  I hear through my grapevine is the next date in court. Interesting times and interesting people. People who do not understand what subpoena means are trying to educate us on court procedures. Ei..but seriously 4,500 witnesses...hahahaa and they say I got jokes but dear new Oga if you share i10s and laptops without knowing, I have raised my hands. Please relax with our taxes (covers face, burst out in laughter).

The other one deserves its own paragraph. Madam Oye Lithur. Well her nomination for the Gender blah blah ministry has raised certain eyebrows. Those opposed to her especially talk about her "support" for homosexuality. Sigh! Touchy Touchy topic. I will dance around it because frankly i do not have a firm stance, because who are you and I to judge. I am not about to sit down raise look down above the rim of my glasses and judge. It is between that person and God. If that person wants   to use his or her body for that....He or she alone will atone. So I end it there. Lord knows I have enough troubles on my own to be adding anyone's to mine. I know the popular saying is the society will decline. Well I am sorry (in my most solemn voice ever) but society has already declined. The only way to rectify it is to train the younger ones not necessarily your kids the values of old. The values that are just, right and pure. I am a Christian, I believe in prayer and the power of prayer but I love reality. The only way to correct wrongs now..is to stick to your value and teach some especially to those who are in the process of shaping their lives because they need values. Especially now that good values are no longer in fashion.
Anyways, let me leave this thing..My issue with Oye Lithur is the gender advocate position. The gender advocate. The gender advocates we have  sit in Accra and make noise on the juicy issues- women empowerment, Liberian refugees, women in politics, micro loans for women, affirmative action meanwhile NONE of them have gone to the witch-camp in the North destroy that nonsense. (don't tell me it is a cultural issue), none of them have really sat down to find out why majority of the women do not make soo much from the loans they collect.....I could go on and on but the core issues that affect women in Ghana but our so called gender advocates have not been able to stand the test of time. Sad. It is for that reason that I am not a fan of Mrs. Lithur. She is well qualified..she has the degrees to match but zilch. And when my common sense tells me she was given that position because of her Gender activism...sigh! And for me personally no " hardcore" gender activist accepts   government appointment. Yes..I feel you have to work outside the confines of government. Activist or not at the end of the day especially in Ghana the bark stops with President/Presidency. That popular we are clearing the kayayos from the street, anyone?! Yep it didn't work. So that excuse about adding to government is ummm ummm "not solid" Or I am talking too much? What do I know right? Hahaaha I guess not much! But mull over it, and let me know what you think.

Have a good evening...

  1. I guess realized that I forgot to add that ....my father is fine. Fully recovered and back to his fierce self. But seriously we must live life to the fullest. Life is that short and that is no cliche.
