Shoeholic - me

Hello again, how was your day today? Was it fine? Boss stress? Personal stress? ....baaaa hamburg! Don't let the stress of life get to you, easier said than done eh? ..hmmm I know but you have to. My policy is if anything will kill me let it not be stress. Food, shoes, books anything but stress! What i normally do when stress gets to me is to cry. Yes I lock  my self in a corner and vent in tears. After a day or two i am fine. I get back to normal. That is my remedy. It might not work for you, that is why you are you. find your own mojo and you will be fine. Maybe it's a friend you need to talk to, maybe it's comfort food, maybe it's sleep, maybe it's everything but never forget to talk to God first.
What am I doing now?  I am sitting in the living room with my father. He was watching National Geographic when I should be watching Mob Wives. Ah. Well I won't say anything during the Olympics I held onto the remote so he can have the remote now after all all must be fair in love and war. Or? The documentary on National Geographic is about Cuba and its changing scenes due to western influence. Haha the socialists like Mr. Kwesi Pratt should come and hear..smh. Come to think of it Fidel Castro has outlived ten USA presidents. Wow...he is really a definition of old soldier never dies huh? Haha.

No politics today...I want to talk about shoes. Not just any shoes...my obsession with it or is it them. I can gawk at shoes all day everyday. But I wasn't like this. Nope. At some point this shoeholic was stuck to sandals because of my feet. My feet are not large or out of shape, my feet sweat. I sweat on my feet all the time. 24 hours a day . it made it soo difficult to want to wear nice shoes. I couldn't even wear covered shoes. My feet will stink and I will get foot rot. Yuck! But I used to admire all my friends and then some...in primary school, junior high, secondary school and the university. Ah people could combine their attires with their shoes or let their shoes make the fashion statement. Bijoux oh dear I always used to stare at your feet trying to catch a glimpse of what you were going to put on. There was another lady her name was Mawuse..I think she won the Miss Ghana title for that year. Ohhhh she was tall and fab and her shoes were a killer. Flats, kitten heels, stilettos ...the works. All this time yes uni, I was afraid to do the dirty. Then out of nowhere I started paying attention to reality tv. It started with Kimora: Life in the fab lane. Omg I was gone. Kimora is an ex model who was once married to Russell Simmons of Phat Farm. The show chronicles her life...for me all I saw were her shoes but mind you even then I couldn't walk in heels. Her shoe closet( I don't even want to think about the designer shoes...don't want to faint.) was fabulous, plenty shoes of different colors, shapes, designs...and hmmm there I told myself maso mehye bi. What have I got to loose, ok maybe fall down..hehe.

I have always known the shoes I wanted to wear. That one shoe that pampers your feet whilst defining the length of your leg. So I nosed around. The kind of shoes I wanted I could not afford and there was no way in hell I was going to stand infront of my parents Yaw and Woyram and say please give five million( old currency) to buy shoes. Ebei. Haha. But it did not deter me either ways it was not as if I could walk in them yet. So I went to kantamanto and bought shoes. Kantamanto di33 metuu mekye, hw3 all the boutiques go there. Dont mind them. Shuaa these boutiques. Azaa things. But i got nice stuff. Pls not the weird dead ones ooo. The store rejects. The trick with Kant is you  find a good dealer and thou will be sorted nicely. I learnt to work with those. I hopscotched for three months, blistered my feet along the way until I was Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria. And I have never looked back. Now I can afford to buy myself some decent shoes. No i dnt make millions, i save and buy strategically. And now that we have platforms that support the feet...no pressure. Ah the ever lovely Christian Louboutins. Muahz to him. Alas those people you will never meet but pray for them every day that they continue to live and do their miraculous works. His shoes are lovely, ah the heels especially the six inches. Yes those shoes you do not walk about in them plenty ooo, you do not want to have your heel looking like it was used to drive a nail into a wall. Heheee. I do not have a closet full of shoes but I have a shoe rack ok I will confess a big rack..naa I won't tell you how many I own. But at least I am able to color coordinate or block with my outfits..yaay!

What is the moral of this story...mmmm, none. Just find fabulous shoes to stand out in that's all. And err I also wonder for some ladies ooo. Especially those who wear slippers or open toes. Pls if your toes are gnarly cover them up ah ah. It's very not not. My remedy for open toes and slippers is a simple French manicure. This any stylist can do. Or you can do it at home..top coat with a little white to outline the nail then you are gone. Makes the feet look tidy.
Well so there I am a shoeholic but then again I absolutely adore bags, books and chocolates. Yes and in that particular order. Nope I will not be tempted to get started on bags...the more leather , the more my heart skips a bit. Sometimes I wish Anna Wintour was my aunt. She will have no peace. The amount of things designers send to her for approval...those things that end up in her show room unused , those things will be mine. I died slowly whilst I watched September Issue. That movie needs
tissue and smelling salts.

As I said in my previous post ...I am looking for housewarming gifts but if an angel touches your heart as my birthday too is next month...size 39 is the name of the game.

Haha

Have a good nite people ;)

Omydayz was it not a few hours ago that I was talking about how some people do ridiculous stuff in this country and how I wish they could just pause and ask themselves if they are correct? Waaa look at Mr. Kwadwo Ansah Twum Boafo who publicly announces that he has resigned from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana because in his view they are very partial in their condemnation of the creation of the new constituencies. Well just a few hours ago we got a response from the church indicating that he is not a registered member neither does he pay dues or tithes. Wait I want to laugh....hahahahahahahahahahahahahs ah. Oh Kweku Baako will be shaking his head and saying ah here we go into another realm of absurdity.

We are really joking in this country. It's a no brainier that we will have this story play out in the media for the next weeks to come and the important stories of nation building will be given a back seat.  In all this it is President Mahama I pity. Oh yes I pity him..he has inherited a lot of stuff from the late president and the egos are just too much at this point. Even his famous thank you tour has taken a back seat thanks to one of his own...no wait one of his government communicators. Hahaa. Let me take you back a bit for those who may not understand what the Presbyterian Church, the Trades Union Congress, the Apostolic Missions as well the NPP is saying. Nobody is trying to tell them i.e. the EC not to create constituencies they are merely saying that the time is wrong...2months to a general election, so why don't you wait for this election to be over then you can gladly create more next year. That is all the matter ooo. This common sense thing some people have not heard some before. The excuse is NPP did same but I ask what time was that CI brought to parliament? And if something was wrong years ago, why do you the wise man repeat the same mistake...what kind of thing is this. But for me that is not where my wahala is..not there at all. My wahala is Hon. Kwadwo Twum Boafo and the Free Zone Enclave.

The first time I heard of Free Zone Enclave i immediately thought of Silicon Valley in the United States. I am sure some of you are shaking your heads...Yes I say USA that is how big and grand my imagination is or is it was at that time. But Alas I entered the zone and it was terrible. Yes there are buildings and some road networks but that is as far as it goes...I mean if landscaping consists of weeds then you can imagine. And that is supposed to be our industrial hub. Yes where our companies congregate manufacture export 70% and 30% stays here on in Ghana. But that is not the case.Nothing to write home about. Wait a minute I am not saying the deteriorating is the fault of the NDC or the fault of Hon. Twum Boafo what I am saying is if you understand how critical that hub is to the development of Ghana...the first person you will look for is something who understands the words entrepreneurship, business, growth, manufacturing, and the 21st century. Do I hear a Patrick Awuah in the audience. Do I hear that amen. That area is not a cadre position or a government communication position it is the Executive Secretary to the Free Zone Board Position. Strategic thinking . Always everywhere for the wrong reasons, always on radio for the wrong reasons....when will we hear that the free zone enclave in connection with the Ghana Investment Promotion Council is has been able to effectively fill out our free zone enclave nationwide to theorist that we have to build more hubs. Is it mission impossible like Mr. Lee Ocran aka Tom Cruise  wants us to believe with the Free SHS policy? So this thing about his resignation that has come to plague our eyes what at will it add to the free zone enclave?

Infact these were the people who made a lot of us angry with the president no not the current one. These were some of the things why we some of us are eager  for them to leave. Everyday this kind of thing on radio, newspaper and television. Why. Lord knows how we suffered with Asamoah Boateng now we have about a hundred of his kind. Prez Mills could not ask them, but will
President Mahama have the courage?

It is high time our leaders realize that we are hungry. We are hungry for success we are hungry for  the fine things we see in movies, read in books and for those of us who have had the chance to  experience abrokyire seen with our two eyes. We cannot continue to sit in Accra and think that  because there is a skyscraper in Accra then we are developed. I believe any politician worth his salt  drives beyond Accra every month...he wont even have the time to sit in radio and saying all kind of  things. He or she will be to bothered in trying to fix something for that family who has nothing but  still stands in line to vote. We cannot afford to apathetic in this election or any other. I fact I refuse to  hear those who say they are all the same. No they were all the same when we were gullible, now we  are not. Infact we cannot afford to be...there is too much at stake.

It's time for me to find something and eat and continue my book.

Writers blog...or is it writers block...haha

Agooo....I have not forgetten about blogging o. I am here o, no writer's block o. I am just hot. infact hot y3mi. I am moving out of my comfort zone after 27 years on the University of Ghana campus. Yes I have lived my entire life sheltered within the walls of the great premier University. I was born in Sarbah Hall in  E84. Yes no wonder when i got admission on the University of Ghana campus, my hall was Mensa Sarbah...oseyy Vikings.( haha) It is a good thing moving out but chale it will not be easy. Well it has started out not easy at all. OMG!!!! rates for rent and car prices in Ghana are a killer. Wow people are really suffering...then again it makes you count your blessings yep like get down on your knees kinda counting all the mercies. I guess I have to keep you informed on my progress, Yes i will, i will want to share all the stuff i go through so peharps i will encourage you, yes you that wants to stay and not push yourself. Life has its difficulties and you just have to brave it..I promise to share all my ups and downs...so please if you know me personally, stop buying me cake, cookies, dresses, shoes and icecream i am looking for house warming gifts. lmao

But I am soo excited, my own space, my own bathroom, decorating the space, whipping up dishes in my own kitchen (whoop whoop) my own memories built in every corner. I really looking forward to the next chapter. And by the way my son Kwadwo has got a motorway...hahaa so hilarious right. Initially i was afraid he would feel uncomfortable because of it, I also did not know how he will respond to the teasing from us and his classmates but he bravely took it in stride. He is craking jokes about it and all...giving us the motorway sign.  If you ask him where his tooth is he will tell you it is broken and the dog has chewed it...who says that! I remember how i kept my broken tooth in a white polythene bag and hid it under my bed. Hmmm I wonder where that passed, I am sure my mother swept that thing away. How did you keep yours? care to share?

Isnt Ghana a sweet country? Every week new info. Ah it is soo hard to keep up now. Sometimes the things are so ridiculous you wonder if those who are involved ever pause and wonder if they themselves are correct? I mean for instance the EC deciding to create districts barely two months to elections.Sigh! As if that is not enough, you have the very Constituitonal Instrument that will enable the constituencies to become legal end up in some azonto dance in Parliament. Today it is laid by the close of day it is withdrawn then it is done the next two days only to be withdrawn that same day. It is soo similar to the kind of movies our local Denzel.. Agya Koo acts here. It is soo part 1 and 2. Still wondering when 5 and 6 are coming out. But seriously put the NDC and NPP aside, when will we take ourselves serious as a nation. When we do things in this country we seem to forget that the other nations look at us. Yes the same way we stretch our long necks and laugh at countries who do aluguntugui stuff, they same way they huff and puff with us. Aside that we must stop trying to subject our inactions and inaction to ridicule. Now when we talk of our EC we laugh or end up insulting them. We have little or no respect for Dr. Afari Djan. It is not cool...at all. And speaking about Dr. Afari Djan i do not even understand what is happening, creating new constituencies barely two months to election, it does not sound right. or it does? The argument that i hear is NPP did same. Yes they did same, but seriously look at the time it was done, more than nine months to the election. Given everybody ample time to adjust and know their left from right.
I laugh when i hear the umbrellas say that they will win and that those making noise are those who will lose. Yes NPP has made noise but is I did not know the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and The Trades Union Congress are also going to contest the seats as well or let me guess they are all NPP?! how childish! kmt.... Well for now the Umbrellas are superhuman. Fine they can assume they are superhuman because the ball is in their court but who says super humans do not have their kryptonite. Who says those who are rushing to win their primaries will win in the election?

And did I hear that Gideon Aryeequaye stood and lost? oh brother man! Sorry wai! better luck next time. And errr I am a bit conflicted..I absolutely adore Madam Hannah Tetteh. I think she is an amazing orator, still think she should have headed the Information Minstry. I was soo happy that she was going back to parliament only to realise that her bid was part of the imaginary part one and two constituencies. aww my heart. hmmm. Well we will just have to see what happens wont we.

But all that is happening reminds of how NPP lost the election. Yes when the personalities became too big, when the i know my right people ruled everything. Humans are some weird creatures, we do not learn from others, we forget too easily. what is that word again....HUBRIS!

So much has happened in the weeks of my non blogging, we have heard of the Yaw Boateng Gyan tape, we have heard of Olele, his wife and TB Joshua, Asiedu Nketia and The Preseby church...boy oh boy I am spoiled for choice. But I want to discuss Olele and his matters arising before I end this post.

Seriously this matter, how do you say it without being judgemental. This is my own beliefs so kindly treat it as such eh. I bear my own cross. But errrr I have never lived Mr. TB Joshua. I do not like him. I used to hear of him when he always makes propehecies that are obvious...come to think of it he hardly makes propecies about his country but always Ghana is his first stop. Almost three and a half years, he held some kind of authority over the presidency of this country. Even when we are playing a black stars match..someone has to call him for him to predict. Ebei. All the psychology that was spurn and wound with religion...Now we tend to follow the leader of the church and leave the Lord God behind. Who are we kidding..No one.Yes everybody including late Oga Prez had the right to believe in who and whatsover but when it is done at the expense of our country Ghana I beg to differ.

Difficult subject for me...Late Prez Mills... then before i could recover here comes the bride and groom. Richard Kingston aka Olele. Yes our former goal keeper has gone to him for prayers and on live tv his wife declared herself a witch who has tied his manhood. The first time i heard it all i said was ah illiteracy is painful. But why is the woman always the witch. Why is the mother always the mermaid in the sea. Me, Amma NaaBia Boachie- Danquah if you call me a witch or any female i know as a witch, i will just embrace it and beat the hell out of you. Mercilessly infact! Abi I bi witch. I will teach you witch sense. But seriously how?
I mean how? infact how dare you? Olele you are an old man...yes you are. Every man is appointed to be young, grow old and die..but if death comes early then ahh well...
Errr you tell us you are 28 but MRI scan dont lie so why should you.. your bones are old, you cannot obviously do the beautiful goal keeping you once did and you cannot just accept that? Why all this public invitation into your life...your wife, your children, your family, your friends all this why...do we ever think of the implications on the children. No matter the age, this is a very horrible thing to say about their mother.
And you say she is no witch, and she rather encouraged you not to accept 300,000 bribe to throw away a match? And that she was in a trance? So what should we do now...You were the one who went for prayers, You were the one who was asked to go and bring your wife, You were the one who came back to Ghana, put her in a plane to Nigeria for this to be said about her now you say what? Seriously? I pray your children forget this, I pray the woman forgives you and stays with you, I pray you have the common to come home and restrategise what to do with the rest of your life and whatever is left of your money. I really pray that you remember the marital vows at your big wedding ceremony you had just a few years ago....and most importantly i pray that you know one of the best ways to get miracles you soo desire is to get on your freaking knees and pour out your soul to the Lord. There is no other way around it.

This is an aside...why do we always assume that once someone has cut her hair and has no makeup then she is in shs and so she must be treated as such. Had a long battle with some bank girl at Zenith Bank Head Office yes the one by the National Theatre ( yes i have named and shamed). I know make up is supposed to enhance your facial features but if you end up looking like a corpse then what is the point. smh. I would rather put on make up and look flawless then look like the makeup colors bitch slapped me.

Today is Tuesday...another hot day in Ghana. Let us see what the week brings...

We will talk soon,

I am out

For now..

And then again i wonder?

Time: 6.25pm > 27th September 2012

Before I begin to do my thing, I really must apologize for the typos I make you endure all the time.I am cringing on your behalf already. I type real fast, my kokonsa thoughts hit me all at once, I always have soo much to say on paper. I promise to go through all and correct the mistakes. I promise to edit and proof read. At least I owe you that for taking time to read…..

Its Monday evening, I am home. Today I worked from Tema so I was cruising up and down the Motorway. How I wish I had a convertible. Hot pink with customised leather seats. Like I will drop the top... vroom myself in seconds. Hallelujah.... Kw333! ah ah my money should hurry up and come eh. I have been spying the new Mercedes convertible I think it is S something. Onyame di33 he knows paaa and he is allowing me to grow into my hard work and money. If He gave everything to me at once, like I will spoil portorr. But the Lord is sure good all the time.(Heheeehe)

And then again I wonder….apart from wondering in my usual kokonsa style if I should eat supper (yes I am aspiring to embark on a hopeless diet). Dieting is a terrible thing, it is an attack on the body i tell you. It is war. War on everything.... on the senses of taste, sight and smell. The body suddenly decides to make you aware of all the scents of food, all the tender spicy meats and all the fizzy drinks in the world. Right now i am losing the battle. Yep i can see some pork sauce, rice and peas fried in butter. oh mehn... Alas!! but heyyyyy i am not that fat. I have just moved from a size 10 to a size 12. As long as I am able to fill out my jeans, shorts and skirts...whoop whoop( sly grin)

Back to the topic....I really wonder when people who live their lives in public will start realizing that it is not healthy to air their dirty linen to the line. Seriously who wants to smell anybody's stinking pants...ewww right?!.  When will they realize that when we choose them as our leaders we are interested in how the country is moving forward and not who is not this person’s friend. Who cares? Well I don’t. Do you?

This week we are going to be welcomed into a realm of you say I say, he did she did, I beat you, did not beat you….wei nyinaa nsoso ye asem. What is wrong with you people?  Ah you listening to yourselves? Till the story changes Haruna Iddirisu is alleged to have organized  a woman to beat up a deputy minister in Charge of Women and Children Affairs. Talk about Irony.  (Holding my head)  I can already see the spin that will be put on this by the foreign media.  Women and Children Affairs. Right of women...blah blah! Honorable Haruna The Minister for communications is a very nice man.( No I am not talking in terms of how handsome he is. He is one of the nicest communicators of the Umbrellas who is not soo up in your face, yep the kind that doesn’t want to make you smash the television).

I remember him from his NUGS (National Union of Ghana Student) days, he was president of the union I think for 4 years and he was very good. One of the few young men who were bold enough to challenge the system.... heck what am I saying? challenge Prez Rawlings. The original who born dog. How he ended up with the Umbrellas? I have always wanted to ask but hey obiara ne ne taste. But seriously this allegation I do not want to believe it. My common sense cannot see him wanting to harm a woman. That is soo cruel. And she goes on to say John Jinapor (Prez Mahama’s aide also attacked her at some point) like seriously this is not cool! At all.  But meser3 meka...what is soo fascinating about theis woman that everybody seems to want to hit her? Is she a Zainab? This is embarrassing for me as a Ghanaian. This is not the kind of news i want to be waking up too.
Hmmmm what should the president do? What will the president do? This situation reminds me of President Palmer in the 24 hit television series.  There was this time, Jack Bauer did something that went against USA and President Palmer had to punish him , Jack told him pointblank …Sir you are a man, most of all my president, the President of the United States of America, what would you do? We will have to wait and see. But ah I do not envy President Mahama one bit. He is about to enter a world of egos. The world a leader always has to suffer. But he has to manage it. He is a communication man no? He knows the effect this has on himself, his bid to become president and the view of Ghana internationally.

A terrible attitude I have especially when i am in the midst of crawling traffic. I love to kokonsa stare at people driving home. The trotros, the taxis, the Kufuor buses, motorcycles, the bicycles, and the private cars. Kindly note I have not added the people standing waiting for transport because I cannot really see the expressions on their faces apart from the frustration in their body language at not getting vehicles to go home with. I focus on the cars whose passengers are basically men and women. I try and guess which ones are married. Out of five three of them couples that i assume are married have heavy looks on... like I can’t wait to get out of here. Long faces home. So I guess you are wondering where I am going with this. Well no where! I am not about to start talking about marriage. Me dzi me fie asem.  How annoying right…well that is me.

Right at this moment I am going to finish some reading i cannot postpone any longer and hop onto bed like no man’s business.

Have a good day should I say tomorrow or today..kinda confused.

Later.

Love,

Me.

The weekend and I.....

Hi…
So you are happy the weekend is here, no work but errrr what do you do to occupy yourself? Now its like at least for me...i disturb for the weekend and before i realise i am upset and on my way to work. Yep Monday is already here. I am even tired of complaining about Mondays. There is no point now..(sigh). Or I do not plan well.....maybe maybe!
Where do you go on a typical Saturday in Ghana? Yes like seriously? I have gone to all the hotspots aka restaurants/ hotels/beach and I am tired/bored. Or is it that I have turned into an old lady? Tsoo i am only 27 or i do not get the nightlife anymore. I am not talking about going out every night like some people do but some cool hangout on Saturday to enjoy the weekend. It has become too someway. The food (well only a few of them guarantee you of good food all the time) drinks, ambiance, patrons of the places are all the same. Not that I am making the Ghanaian nightlife scene look boring but there has to some gingering up. People need to invest into new hangouts with a different spank/ attitude (I do not have ideas so please do not ask me what?), and while I am on this subject dont you think we need another conference center and another national theatre?. We need bigger sitting capacity, beautiful monumental structures, some crazy architectural design ; the works…and ohh stronger looking ones too.

People have money in this country. They should take the opportunity to invest in such structures. As I always say we know what we lack but we love run around the problem. Or we should wait for the Airport city to develop? Ok that too is not bad. Looking at the Citizen Kofi restaurant, The Marriot Hotel, Marina Mall et all.

Well moving along Patrick treated me to ice cream from one of my favorite joints in Osu. Nope I will not mention their name.  But mehnn that ice-cream is really something else, my favorite flavors are the straciatella and cookies (menum ye me d3 papa) proper homemade cream. He then drove us through town to get a bit of the night breeze. Oh my days…Accra is freaking dark. It is like we are worshipping the street lights. First it was… there are no street lights, now the street lights have been fixed too, the lights are not working. Ebei ooo. And what kills me in all of this, is the fact that it is a dominant feature on our major roads at least the ones in Accra. i.e. Tetteh Quarshie and the N1 Highway. Are we freaking serious? I think someone needs to alert Mr. Kwami Sefa Kayi (Radio Host for Peace Fm) about this one too. I remember when he blasted whichever authority on radio for not fixing the street lights on the Spintex road he got results. (Power of radio and media) Something has to be done, I mean come on.

Well finally got home and decided to scare myself silly. My movies of choice were Sleepy Hollow and Jeepers and Creepers.  I guess you will want to know what the movies are about?!.  I am lazy this minute….kindly goggle eh! But sometimes I wonder why we scare ourselves like that. You know the movie is scary but still you want to watch it. I made a critical mistake too ooo. As at 3.00 am deep into Jeepers Creepers, I remembered I had not looked the kitchen doors….simply put it was not easy. I hopped scotched my way through the entire process of  locking the doors, decided that the creature was hiding on the corridor about to zap me so I slept on the couch in the living room only for me to wake up with my neck stiff and sore…(not smiling). But it’s all good. I have learnt my lesson but err if there is a new horror movie recommend it wai I will still watch with my heart in my mouth..That is why Kwesi Broni invented deep heat to aid stiff necks…. (Heheeehe). Is Robb still on the Ghanaian market? I don’t remember the last time I saw any. It is made in Ghana right? That is some good stuff especially when you have a cold.

Monday is here, another week beckons.  We have to make the best of it. Keeping our head high and not allowing anyone to sit on your happiness. I always say there are over a billion people in this world why on earth will you allow one just one or worst case scenario three spoil your day????

Love

The Elephant Calls

Sunday August 26, 2012 (11.38 am)

Nacy and Tina Asante singing softly in the background… (Amansan enb3 hw3 m3).

Yes I also listen to Gospel music (hahaaa). But I do not really like the ones that focus too much on suffering, pain, witchcraft, etc.  It is as if to serve God  these days or to know that He is powerful you must wallow in squalor and abject poverty. I believe the word of God is to inspire hope, faith and a sense of purpose in your life especially on this world. But then again that is me! What do i know?  But I  really love Nacy of  No Tribe his voice is amazing and his songs of worship are to die for.  Apart from the song playing in the background i love his Aseda tune.

Well this song definitely sets the mood for what I am writing. I do not know what to call it. A letter, a story, an upliftment piece…hahaaa but all I know is I have to put my thoughts down to encourage my friends and family of the Great New Patriotic Party on the platforms of Twitter and Facebook. Yes, great party with a strong and resounding motto: Development in Freedom.

As I said earlier this is not of those open letters that people write to seek attention and create controversy. I do not even have the energy to write those kinds of letters. It is just yours truly calling you to rally around what we believe in.  The Atiglini  is calling ( that is how the Ewes call the elephant :)Because if you are a son and daughter of the great party NPP, if you believe in the traditions laid down to us by our great Danquah, Busia and Dombo then it’s time to fall in line. It is time to step up and be counted. It is time to attempt to implement that audacity of hope our new team and leadership seek to implement. I call it the audacity of hope because Nana Addo simply inspires me to hope in Ghana once more. No No...I am not saying i was some morose girl before I saw Nana Addo, I am saying i see the leadership, hope and prosperity through his eyes. That is not to say Nana Addo is a saint, an angel or a prophet...infact I do not want him to be either. I want him in his human form to so he understands the plight and destiny of this nation.
Enough of the dramatic okyena mewu leadership. We have endured almost four years of an overwhelming leadership deficiency. Yes all sort of things have happened in this country, people doing and saying as they please…policy, critical leadership, drive, audacity and courage thrown to the marines! ENOUGH!!!  And frankly at the pace that which the world is moving and has moved, I am soo impatient with all the bootlicking answers and questions.

Our journey with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo started in 2008 election when he stood for election alongside 16 other members to vie for flag bearer which he won. He further led the party into election ,won the first round and later lost to Prof Mills (may be find everlasting peace) in a runoff. My focus starts from the first round which Nana Addo won. That is the sign that our candidate is worth selling, he is worth trying out again. And dont you forget that. In that election so many things worked against us but most importantly we took everything for granted…but for me it’s ok. Yes sometimes you need to fall and come back again. A part of the learning process called Life.

It is time again; it is time to rally around the NPP flag, the party and our leader because he needs us. He needs us to be very intelligent and articulate in our answers, He needs us to focus on issues that will bring development and understand them properly, He needs us not insult and instigates attacks, and He needs us to convince a person a day (yes!) on why the party is the best alternative for Ghana. He also needs us to tell the truth at all times, not to overpromise, not to bring his campaign into disrepute and above all believe in him.  Honestly if you do not believe in him then there is no point leaving your room to sell his vision. It will not be easy, you will be pushed to the wall, you will be asked all sorts of questions, teased, insulted, but at the end of the day you need to standout confidently. Keep in mind that Ghanaians are gradually getting tired of politics, the opportunistic tendency our leaders are not ashamed to flaunt and the tricks that come with it. Our actions and inactions must truly reflect our purpose. The purpose to move Ghana forward.

I wish all of us well. I wish Ghana well and I hope by the end of 7th December the resounding vote is loud and clear that we will not waste our time on people who act like they have nothing to lose.  If they do not we do, yes we have everything to lose. The destiny of this nation is at stake. That being said let us have a peaceful mindset in all we do. Not everyone can afford to live outside this country

PS. As I did on my Twitter and Facebook accounts the other time, I will emphasis here and now that I not be paid a dime to do this. And because I haven’t been paid I am soo free to come and go as I please. Conscience free and full of purpose.  It is like falling in love and staying in love, you will do absolutely everything from your heart, make mistakes, move on but never let go especially when you appreciate what you have...winks

Have a good week everybody,

Love

Me.

Why judge....

Why do we judge?.

I just had an encounter a couple of hours ago. Initially as it was unfolding before my eyes i wanted to call out the waiter and a couple of people (no they dont qualify as guests) but i held it in instead and took pains to write him ie the waiter a short note before i left. The note simply stated STOP BEING A SHIT HEAD, HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND OR HUSBAND AND IF HE WAS WHAT IS IT TO YOU? NONSENSE.

Kindly forgive my language my wai but I was blind with fury infact i still am. But boy did i get intense satisfaction watching him read it...and squeezing his face. Who cares? But for a minute I thought he will follow us to the parking lot...Like i will have unleashed my dormaa ahenkro bloodline on him. How annoying. He was soo standoffish, acting like he didnt hear me, and frowning at my guest.

Now the story > I took a client to a business lunch at a reputable hotel (name witheld) in Accra. It has really pained me paa. ah.
He is old and white. I am black, young with short hair.  I get it i am young and he is old. It was time for buffet. Next time i will just go to a chop bar. Oh my. Anyways back to the story, from the time we entered the hotel, through lunch to our departure it was awkward. Eiii pressure. I know you might think i was the one who was prejudiced but naaa my white client asked if there was a problem because people were staring at him.
I do not even know how i answered that queston. I am in no way defending his sensibilities because he is white. He is human and i think every human does not want to be stared at like he has a tree growing on his nose.

hmm yes i get it that is the trend of some young women today...marrying/duping (depending on how you want to look at it) white old men but efa woho ben?. Is it your body that is sleeping with the man or woman? Are you the one who will eventually answer for the sins of that person? why do you judge? if the person wants to sleep Medusa efa woho ben? We should learn to stay in our lanes. We all have a unique purpose to fufill on this earth, if you havent fulfilled yours why are staring elsewhere. It is different if you want to tell the person but if you dont want to share your thoughts with the person then kindy hush it and quit staring whilst you are at it.

Anyways,we ate lunch, infact because of that i chewed my chicken bones well before I left. People will not focus on inflation but rather they are worried about what man a woman is sleeping with.

About to leave on my way home. It will take me an hour from Tema (that is the site office) to Legon (home) I will be playing some Destiny's Child tracks. Agya nipa nso so ye den. Thursday Anigye. anaa?

Talk to you later,

Love

Me.
