Cheers to you..2013

Mosheho?! long time no write eh? I believed my last post here was titled "Calm before the storm" and Oooh what a storm it has been. The umbrella is forcing to cover me from the storm but i am beating my chest like Shaka the Zulu. hahahaa. Still strapped to the great elephant menti gyae....(i just saw Mawuli Dake roll his eyes...( novi am i lying? careful your eyes do not pop out) I still cant believe how it turned out. Let me explain that statement before my online "husband"  Dumevi intentionally goes to misquote me somewhere( grin). I am over it because really until anything contrary Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan has spoken. But for me as at 6th December, I was clear in my mind that the issues that had rocked the fabric of common sense were major determinants in choosing leadership this year. I thought (my mistake again )that the country was ready to do away with petty stuff and focus on vision. But idey bi (twisting mouth k3k3...But you really must give it to us,  Ghana has the craziest elections ever. Anyways I have my new resolution ready. Ummm I don't really do new year resolutions because I always break them afterwards but this one I am keeping close to my chest...here goes. My new year resolution is idey bi k3k3 which translates in my dictionary as each one for himself, Onyankopon for us all. Lovely right?!

Whirlwind December. Long story short,  my president elect is on vacation in South Africa and if my memory serves me well is expected tomorrow, the opposition leader ( William is sure troublesome..love him to bits) is in court seeking to nullify( is that the right legal term) the presidential results whilst contesting about 30 parliamentary seats and the rest of us are waiting for the new year. There is generally calm in Ghana though we are washed with lots of unsavory words on tv and especially radio with a few online weirdos but generally it is well.  Umm personally I thank the heavens those lame( very lame for emphasis) peace songs are over. Yes we want peace but some folks were behaving as if we were eating bullets and drinking grenades. The songs were lame and I wondered why the editorial policies of the television stations did not apply then.

Good-evening ooo belated Merry Christmas ooo. Afei sese na obiara w) cash tise Bill Gates. Ok i will confess I am at home. I awkwardly and quite dramatically got stood up on a fine evening as this. (face in palm) my fault anyways i made no plan B or C , talk about complete bummer. I have shrugged it off already though. Nothing sugar popcorn and TV cannot fix. Accra Mall is a bore but their popcorn is divine....but to the person who stood me up ummm Idey  bi k3k3 is applying here to.
Well you are spending time with me. Yes you who took a few minutes to read my last post. Yippie!!!

This is my last for this year ( because seriously i do not see any serious action till next year). I dedicate it to my 5000 plus friends on Facebook, the over 1000 people who subscribe to my posts there as well as my 90 followers on Twitter ( I really don't find Twitter interesting...I know I know but haha but I have linked my accounts ie Facebook and Twitter so it makes up for something right) and also to the over 1000 followers on my Facebook business page and the plenty plenty people who read my blog...typos and all. Whew. How do you deal with the typos again?! Lord knows I cringe and shrink in my seat each time I am brave enough to re-read.

All I want to say is THANK YOU. MEDAASE. AKPE.

I have met fantastic people, some of you I have had the chance to meet, some of you I have the privilege to  put voices to the faces and some of you I have had the privilege to call members of my family. Let me say it here and now that my real name is NaaBia. I thought it was cute at first but seriously some of you can't keep asking me if NaaBia is really my name. Secondly please it is very rude to say chick or shoddy wassup? not cool. A hello or a hi is a nice way to start the conversation. No I am not giving you dos and dont's, it is just that sometimes I ignore you completely because of these small things.

Before I end, I wish all the good values of life in the year 2013 for everyone especially we the young adults. Whatever is true, whatever is pure, whatever is just, whatever is right. Let us renew ourselves and embrace hard-work and not rely on recycled motivation pamphlets. Let us renew ourselves and learn to respect, let us renew ourselves and learn not to lie, steal or malign just for the benefits of here and now. Let us renew ourselves and learn not to take undue advantage of people, let us learn to renew ourselves and not envy unduly, let us renew our minds and learn that God is the only one you must look up to. Mankind will give you story and in the end leave you lonely( R2Bees)

I hope to hear all the happy New Years from you on Tuesday.  Don't worry one day one day, I will find Donald Trump and he will organize a party for us. Oooh don't worry he is too known like me, when we meet he will have no choice but adore me. Lol.

Cheers to you and the year 2013.

Ps. Eishh 7th January 2013 the umbrellas will not be easy at the swearing in. K3k3 land is sure
interesting.

The Calm Before The Storm..

Yesterday was amazeballs. I danced my way from the Children's park in Accra right up to the Akuafo Park at the University of Ghana. My body aches like hell. I seriously do not remember the last time i danced like that. Covers face...today too i had to sit in at a meeting so guess what high heels. I have squeezed my face into a polite pimple. But i don't regret any of it. By the way who ever brought Azonto dance steps you deserve a Nobel Peace Prize. Yesterday i mastered the "boxing move". Bronya wei di33 menye easy koraa. Grin. Good afternoon everybody.

For the past two days, I have walked to my junction (not to far from my house, about 7 minutes give or take) to catch a cab to work. I have been car- less and very annoyed about it. I have had to wake up extra early in order not be "attacked" by the horrible traffic and charged silly for that as well. I will admit, i was so upset on Wednesday urgggh i woke up too early i could not even do my short snooze from 6:00- 6:10 (please do not laugh, those ten minutes are the sweetest in the morning). And on top of it all, i had to walk. Walking is good, Lord knows i need to lose some weight but weight loss is the last thing on my mind. Even this minute i am thinking of how i can get Papa'a pizza and grilled chicken. How can you see grilled chicken with all the trimmings and then opt for salad. ah awerhosem. Please i am not a food-ian, i am just enjoying the "free" gifts Odomankoma has given us. haha.

Back to subject..... today's walk was different, today my walk had a certain calmness. With each step i took, i reflected on soo many things. I even stopped to laugh at some point. Do not worry after a while i thought i was crazy myself. The memories just kept flashing in my head, from the swearing-in drama of RIP Oga Prez Mills to last minute tape of candidate H.E Mahama on "free air chasers". It sure has been a ride( you agree?)...a ride where everything has been possible. I will certainly not forget 2012...whatever the outcome of the national election. If your excuse is that they are all the same, that is the lazy approach to dealing with life. And I am sorry but you have to grow up. Ummm if you still say you are a floating voter, then i hope you drown. How long can you stay floating. Yaabr3 mo.

No politics on this post today. I have done plenty campaigning soo much soo that (is that correct english) the name Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is finished in my mouth. When i want to mention his name , my lips begin to twist JDM style and how long can i be twisting my mouth like that? Grin. But seriously. Just go out and vote tomorrow. Yes especially you my dear youth( i mean proper youth not the age induced grey hair by force type). Go and vote. Simple.
Be clear with all the procedures, be clear in your mind the way you want this country to be led and be very aware that in all this you do have the power to make a difference. We must begin especially to show as young people that we have come off age. If you promise, and you willingly do not deliver, we will vote/boot you out like no man's business. Nobody should be allowed to enjoy our sweat inspired taxes and stick their tongue out at us with invisible results ala nomenclature. Moko aya ne moko aba. Trust me that is the only way to make them sit up.

But for me most importantly, let the victory tomorrow not be an endorsement of gross disrespect and sheer envy. Because it is not right for young men and women to frame, concoct and malign elderly men because of a  promise of a government position, a house and a car. It is not right and let us not pretend for a minute that for the past four years alot of things that challenge common sense has become the norm. If you are a young person who has been brought up in a home and not a house, dosed heavily with values of respect, truth, dedication to hard work, Godliness(not forced)humility(not forced), discipline, true friendships.... let the victory of tomorrow's election reflect exactly that. As young people we cannot endorse this disgraceful lifestyle. We cannot allow that indecent trait to dwell in us. You can agree to disagree without humiliating a person and attacking his or her reputation. Think about it and vote with lots of purpose.

I am in my office at Ringway Estates. I am calm. I am waiting patiently to vote.....then for the results.(you should see my smile)

My calm before the storm.

The tyranny of a team

This post was actually inspired by Bright Simons of IMANI GHANA. Yesterday on a show (PM EXPRESS on Joy FM) He finally danced the “azonto” with a member of the government communication team. I have not asked Mr. Simons how it really went down but once he hit him I am happy. Bright gave him one on behalf of us all. Bright I hope you slapped some of the crap out of him. As for these our journalists and their show producers I really do not understand what they want to see or hear when they pair differing people. I am beginning to think it is intentional. It must be, because they enjoy when petty issues are discussed in the name of democracy.
Government Communication Team.  I wrote just that this sentence and left it there. Would you believe it if I told you I actually wrote that sentence around 9am left it there till I picked up my Mac at 2pm. You know me; I always have something to say but wei di33 aburu me so. This one I couldn’t just form sentences. Alright let us do it like this, let me give an image of how I understand what a member of the government communication team is supposed be and then you tell me if I am making any sense at all. Good afternoon by the way, I hope you day is going quite splendid, if it is stressful hmm sorry, Tuesdays can be quite dodgy. How many days more to the election again? Grin. I cannot excite my excitement; I am radiating it every minute. Ha-ha.
Here goes nothing. One word that comes to mind when I think of Government communication team is - FINESSE. I do not have an elitist approach to this appointment (I mean I do not think you must attain the highest qualification in the land and neither must you be very old) but I am adamant that whoever holds this position must be clear in their minds that they are not talking to a bunch of morons. Their mission I believe is to let us understand why government does anything good or bad (depending on where you stand at that time) and assure us that ever be the case our concerns are being heard. Additionally their mission is to basically let us understand the vision of the government in relation to polices they are working with. Am I making sense? The government communication team acts separately from the party functionaries, their speech is different, demeanor, trends of thought, language must reflect the position of the President and the entire team with which the Presidency works with. The coordination of information flowing from all areas of the government is very key. Am I still making sense…..because I do not think I am? Maybe I watch too many CNN live coverage’s of White House briefings or I watch too many series e.g. Scandal that show how spoke persons can make or break the government.
In the past four years, I have seen a new force of tyranny of some sort named the government communication team. Young men and women who have totally lost the concept of what the position entails. At first I used to get soo angry when I watched or listened to them. True story, one day I hurledmy glass yes glass of juice at the radio because one of them was totally misinforming. Something to do with how all the people, under the Cuban scholarship are from deprived areas. It is soo not true, I have my next door neighbor on the University of Ghana campus with well to do parents who is in Cuba. I could not stand the way he had turned a seemingly decent discourse into a fully fledged discussion of absurdity. You know like how you are discussing how nice banku and okro stew then someone says anybody who eats banku and okro stew has orange teeth, then you have to discuss and determine if it is true or not. How absurd. But after a while I began to study them. I had to. I really had to understand how they tick. The more I did that the more they become hilarious. Just try it sometime. Try and understand why young men and women who virtually have no experience in the world of academia, entrepreneurship, governance, family life, work life can sit on radio and talk by heart.
It actually is a no brainer that their primary target is leader of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. I am a huge fan of Nana but it is not with bias that I applaud him for holding his own against the tirade. It is not easy at all. Nature by its own design has taught us that people tittle-tattle about you really deep down want to be like you. Seriously! If any of them are reading this, I know they will huff and puff but it is true. Nana Addo did not have to sit on radio and pretend to be important, he did not have to insult, he made mistakes like any young man but as an adult (because that is the cycle of life that matters most) he is a fine businessman, renowned lawyer, an astute politician, a father, a husband and currently the leader of an opposition party win or lose his name remains in the annals of Ghana’s history whilst most of them will be remembered as the diss machines, men and women who were hired to slight. What a catastrophe. Because if you have even if been sent to do something, cant you at least behave like you have a mind of your own.
So this is the point I ask what they were trying to prove by fussing about Nana Addo’s CV. Even forget about the fact less than a week to an election what fascinates them is not telling us why we should return them but rather about a withdrawal from Oxford. Have they seen the how they have dragged H.E Mahama and H.E. Amissah Arthur into the fray totally embarrassing. Now we are being told our president too was sacked from some school for sexual misconduct and our veep too doesn’t have a Masters. (Holds head) Why do we do this to ourselves? But seriously all jokes apart did they honestly think they will continue insulting Nana Addo and no one will respond. If I had my own way none of these things will happen because it is simply does not show respect. Lack of respect to age and to a person’s privacy. It is true the persons question want to attain the highest position on the land but is pettiness the way to test his leadership qualities or his ability to churn out policy? And all this we will be told that the president is unaware of some of the campaign strategies? Then it will be the turn of H.E. Mahama to enter the realm of ridicule. What a cycle. So isn’t there any old man in the house of the umbrellas.
What at all can you say after this?

My King Makers

Friday November 23, 2012. 1.30pm

It is left with just two more weeks to the general elections. Omg. I am so prepared to vote, what about you? I am still venting about the frolics of Hassan Ayariga… I am so mad, can you blame me? Anyways I had a totally different topic to write about when I ventured into a discussion online about the possible kingmakers in the event of a run off in the general elections on December 7thI am no pollster but my definition of a kingmaker is someone who doesn’t have the numbers to win the election whether 1st, 2nd or 3rd round but has himself/herself endeared to many and generate some support for a candidate apart from himself/herself. Truthfully I am always positive about candidates I support in any election though I am normally a mess when the results start trickling in. Hopping from corner to corner, hiding under blankets, jumping shouting plenty ei NaaBia. What is all this.( I fret more than the candidate) Perhaps that is why I rarely look for or is it rather hope for a second round but in this particular race I am inclined to look at the candidates again. This election is really fierce. The list below is in no particular order, I am just listing them for a discussion before some of you get funny ideas especially Dumevi. So we have,

1. H.E John Dramani Mahama- the ruling NDC
2. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo- NPP

3. Dr. Abu Sakara- CPP
4. Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom-PPP
5. Dr. Henry Lartey- GCPP
6. Odike-UFP
7. Hassan Ayariga-PNC
8. Joy something something - Independent candidate and no his name is not Joy something something I just do not know his name and party.
9. Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings did not make it- alas...haha

Pause for a minute will you and ask yourself who looks like the possible kingmaker in an event of a runoff. Before you do that, kindly take the NPP and the NDC out of the list. Why? You ask? Then I will answer you in the typical question with a question ala Ghanaian style. Why not? We simply cannot flog the issueand dance round it any longer. The two main parties simply have the numbers. Full stop. It really does not matter if the people heading the other parties are heroes…if you do not have the numbers, you do not win. Since we are a democracy we must discuss everybody who passes through the filing process right?Ok, now that we are clear on that, kindly look at the list again.Who tickles your fancy from number 3 to 8?

My pick for kingmakers are Dr. Abu Sakara and Dr. Nduom. Why again? Let’s discuss Dr. Sakara first. He has endeared himself to many. Even me die hard NPP, I love him to bits. He oozes leadership and vision that many of us are looking forespecially at a time like this. I never really bothered with him I will be true on that but during the IEA he gave you a bird’s eye view of how the country should grow and a picture of prosperity. He was strident and apparent with his vision though Iwas always guessing which sentence of his will be fused with agriculture. (Hahaaa) Another thing that raised the bar for was his running mate. These days we have to look at running mate not really because of what happened to RIP H.E Atta Mills but because it is quite clear now that the vice president is in charge of certain decisive areas and committees that play a pivotal role in the economy. His running mate was good. Yes she did not have elite titles and degrees but her common sense approach coupled with her understanding of our everyday lives was simply splendid.  For me if there is a run off an Abu Sakara endorsement will mean a lot. Roll in Dr. Nduom.

Well well well, everybody thought Dr. Nduom will be a defining factor among the candidates especially during the debates. He didn’t get included in the much hyped debate but participated in onesorganized by the state broadcaster. I have always been put off by his hand gesturing and Kwame Nkrumahish dress code. I think you can ooze Nkrumah whist trying too hard after all there can only be one Nkrumah or? Or I don’t get it. Anyways Dr. Nduom for what he is worth is a fine business man. His hotels and banks are really proven brands. And if he has a proven track record of nurturing and building solid brands, I feel his thoughts on who should be leader of this country vis a vis his thoughts on policy is also essential should there be a runoff. I never got to listen to his running mate, did you?
Two more weeks’ people, two weeks then we decide who we call Mr. President.
Are you ready?

14. As attorney general he paid judgement debt
15. He does not like Muslims

27. He has trained his daughters to be wee smokers and drug addicts
28. His manifesto is full of lies he doesn't believe in it
30. He urinates anywhere
31. He will be lost in a crowd he is too short

What I have listed above are the things that run through my mind yesterday after the final debate from the IEA. That is the level of pettiness we have descended to but I will come to that in a bit. Ideally after a debate, I should be discussing the merits and demerits on the issues raised , I should be discussing the influence of what transpired both at the presidential and vice presidential debates, if there will be a shift in voting patterns among decided voters or there will be an influence for those who still claim to be floating voters(sigh). Instead I am discussing a realm of foolhardiness I was invited into yesterday (rolls eyes). I for one have been soo excited by these immerging analytical platforms because gradually we were giving ourselves the chance to see firsthand the kind of leaders we want at the Jubilee house(not the slave trade castle), giving ourselves a firsthand all gloves off look at the mindset of the person who will be called Mr. President someday. But alas the discussion has turned into a battle about a man who forgot who was President and attacked his colleague in opposition. (I prefer to use the word discussion, because I was the head of the debating club in my school at one point in time and that was not it….the energy we drove in the discussions were legendry.)
What makes it worse is that I am angry but I am a small voice who cannot do anything. A small voice who for once wishes she had the same platform to give an equal dose to people who haveabsolutely no regard for their audience and behave in a manner which cannot even begin to describe the meaning of dimwitted. I will be truthful; this is the third piece I am writing.  The first two were full of words which were not decorous because of the behavior put up by Mr. Hassan Ayariga of the PNC. Yesterday it suddenly hit me around I: 00 am that all this, all the meeting the late Prez RIP. Atta Mills at the airport for the famous jogging on arrival escapade was calculated because till now I never understood why he went there smiling and ogling for the cameras only to rush to the radio stations and declare him unfit. I now understand why he keeps on attacking NPP’s free SHS programme even the PNC has same in their manifesto. I now understand why he has deliberately attacked Nana not only on yesterday’s platform but also at the previous one and in any interview he gives. I now understand why he decided to cough when Nana Addo who sat next to him was talking and forgot about his “chesty” cough when Abu Sakara and Prez Mahama were taking. I now understand everything. I do not believe he has been bought because really it pennies to impress such people. He is very intimidated.
You can bear with me that in life through school, relationships, work, family and anywhere there is interaction with people, you meet people who for no absolutely no reason what so ever want to belong to the Joneses. They talk big, dress bigger, show offharder but at the end of the day they have nothing to write home about. In their quest to belong to the Joneses, they will try to pull everybody down to prove to their little egos and those they seek to impress that yes they have arrived. It might work for a while but the order of nature is you will be exposed and laid for everyone to see. So I won’t insult, I will rather wish him well. But someone tell him his worst and pray every night as he goes to end with all the false bravado that Nana Addo does not win. Not that Nana Addo will be vengeful, what is the point in that but he should pray that Nana Addo doesn’t win because that will be the height of his shame.
It was at this point in my realization that it hit me all the sort of things I have heard about William Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. In my little corner in my room I got 27, someone please add to the list and let me know….I need to laugh harder. I always say people forget Nana Addo won the first election but he didn’t get fifty plus one. So much worked against the party so much at that time and history dealt with the NPP. For those who say there is no message with the NPP apart from free SHS, wellna who cause am. That is all the NDC opposes and rope it ineven if the discussion is about something to do with tomatoes they will rope in Free SHSThat is all they see meanwhile PPP, PNC, CPP all have the policy in their manifestos, slight difference from implementation but it is there.
My conclusion is simple. Whatever the umbrellas and their new found lover Mr. Ayariga decide to do they should do their worst. If you truly live in Ghana and are discerning you will see who is desperate to win power. Dumevi my companion on Facebook especially with the political debates it takes a lot as you have seen infact a whole lot to make me run and hide. If you didn’t succeed why on earth will some PNC candidate succeed in doing soHave a good day.
Smile. The world truly is a beautiful place.

Finding my way

Wednesday 11/21/12 9.45 am.
Good morning…though I am not sure the time I will be posting this but all the same kindly accept my morning greeting. As you are accepting my greetings kindly indulge me as well; this is not my typical post. It has been quite a well since I wrote anything not because I had nothing to say omg… lots has happened in Ghana. Too much has gone on, some them will make you laugh, some cringe and some just plain sad. But I as said this is not a typical political post of mine.  Let us name it my forever hold your piece post. Hahaaa. But ummm let me ask you to respectfully say a prayer for Hadjia Ramatu Mahama. It is painful to bury a loved one how much more a husband. What a year Ghana has had.
When I started this blog, I started not sure of what I was getting into because my idea of blogging is way up …Huffington Post style. But then again Huffington Post and the likes started from somewhere so little steps at a time right?!. But one thing I was sure off it was the fact that I had created a safe haven to express my thoughts the best way I knew how. As a good friend of mine Eboue Beecham put it (paraphrasing) NaaBia you need to put your thoughts together so that you can turn them into something much later. When it is on Twitter or Facebook anybody can work with it but if it is in a “safe” place as a book, journal or blog you have major control. Eboue thank you but I hope you know you will be my PR manager. I don't have money o, so we will do the salary small small.
But pause! I am simply not there yet. That stage where one writes bookscolumns and articles, in-depth journalistic materials of substance ohhhh I am not yet there. I have to learn the art of writing, I have to nurture and tune my mind to work with my environment and enable my thought processes inform and educate simply put adwuma w)ho. (hahaaa) But seriously and most importantly I have to figure what it is that I want to do all of this. The combination and end result is critical at least that is how I see it. When you want do something you might as well make it everlasting right?!.  Doing something right, because it seems like the right thing to do here and now definitely lacks substance. The far reaching consequences must be thought out. Did I just get motivational? Sheesh I guess that is what grey hair does to you? I have three strands… (Eh why are you smiling?)  All I am saying is I am on the journey in finding out what I do with myself, I am not a trained journalist or anything like that.
Allusions of grandeur or massive influence on social media platforms I am no way near that. I am too young to even shoulder that responsibility. Huge following means you have to watch what you eat, how you dress, what you say and even laugh about…hoh. I beg. But then again cannot ignore the feedback from a couple of people (my age especially) who ask all sort of questions on these same platform.Questions ranging from here to eat, shop, live, relationships (covers face) current happenings in politics(dancing azonto) and sometimes job opportunities (bewildered look). I even have some business owners who advertise on my page, funny enough I have never asked why they do that or the impact.
Well I just pooled all these questions and online discussions I have with people and started the blog.  And Ohhhh with lots of encouragement.
So where does anyone get off saying I have turned what I do into a reality show. I never I had cameras following me 24/7. I never knew I had a momager. Or now there is Ray J in my life i didnt know about. Smh. I just want to share my experiences as and when it comes. As and when i deem fit. All the people I meet online I might never meet them but its okay. It is okay as long as I can make someone smile day at the end of the day. Well as I said this is my forever hold your piece post. I won’t come back to this again. What I have sort to do is to explain the rationale how NaaBia’s Space started and how I think. I am but a simple girl (Rev Otabil adaroma) I am sitting my corner doing my own thing open to critique but I will not have my wings clipped. Do i have wings? Did I just rhyme….hahaha
I guess I am back.

Are you American or a Dwarf?

Truth be told I am enjoying the world of blogging. I honestly do not know why I didn't start sooner. Apart from expressing my thoughts in the best way I know how, it is making me look at my environment a bit more. Now I always want to see what is happening around me , whether at home, or work, locally as a Ghanaian or internationally as an observer who is worried( kokonsa) so I can offer an opinion that is if any is needed. Grin! It might not be a revered opinion but I sure do look forward to filling up my space with these thoughts. These days who knows who is reading your thoughts. But errr if some CIA is reading this then Buei....mdfskkkkk. Ah conspiracy thoughts. I need to listen to Mr. Pratt soon. The man sure loves the CIA and what's that word again? Yep! Insurgents or is it spies?
And where are my manners by the way....hello and Goodevening! How are you? How was your day? I hope everything is alright or is it aight....haha( trying out my American slangs).

And yes speaking about America. Did you watch the presidential debates on Wednesday. If you didn't don't worry I am sure you have heard the reviews now. Yours truly...me stayed up to watch and till now I do not know how I went to work on Thursday. Sheesh! 1 am. Who sent me....errrrrm I do not know. But was it worth it? a big NO! My man dissappointed me bigggggg time. My man Barrack Obama. ( sigh) I do not know what happened but he was simply not on top of issues. His jokes were flat, he was stuttering...yes ooo the Obama we know was doing errrrm errrrm errrrm.( I am still cringing at the memory) and he kept looking down. All this while Mr. Romney ( Urgh) was firing from all cylinders. With some half grin, half smirk attitude. Hmm I read a tweet from Piers Morgan ( follow his twitter handle if you havent already. That man oozes British cynicism to the hilt) and he put it aptly...like a thief in the night Romney stole the show. Smh! For the past weeks we have seen Mr. Romney fumble right left center( , even his wife seems to know what to say right) I was even expecting the President to mention the famous 47% but .....hmmm well I guess I should be happy he has the chance to come back. There are two more debates. Guess when you fall you can try, try and try again. And yes he is intelligent so he can read the reviews and come back like a well oiled machine. But I can't seem to get over it. Herh who watched McCain and Obama. Goodness! That was  the gift that kept on giving. I thought that now as he is President, he was in depth knowledge to finish them knowing the mess that was createdby their party before he assumed office. Sigh!
But do try and read some reviews...interesting journalistic write ups. I love and recommend that of Reuters, Huffington Post and CNN. Watch the video and let me know what you think!

Wait let me laugh here....haha. Errrrm with the straightest face I can muster I humbly ask, are you American? Because now it seems to be able to comment about a country you must be from there? I had an interesting morning on Thursday up through Friday when some " friends" reminded me on Facebook that I am not an American, my votes do not count so literally... how dare I comment on how Prez Obama did. Eiii meni sane ne. First of all I am the queen of patience. People call it sarcasm, smart mouthed, sassy...naaaa I call it extreme patience laced with a smile. Trust me it  helps when i deal with "interesting" people. No, I do not insult, i dont call you names, i do not roll my eyes, i just encourage you to firmly solidify your (for want of a better word) behaviour. I have a straight face on so please stop smiling. Yes you!
And what heightened the strength of my patience that day, was the fact that they didn't even know what they were talking about. It all started because I posted one of Mitt Romney's  punch lines and I was waved the American flag. Meanwhile i solemnly swear i am one of the craziest Obama fans. Heheee. Hmm I am not going to go into all that, but I really want to say in clear terms that I am happy Ghanaian, I am happy I am not voting for Obama because William Nana Addo needs me, I am not going to stop speaking about other countries because frankly it is only intelligent to learn from others and apply it to what you have, I am not going into active party politics because sometimes someone can just love something for what is( please permission to roll my eyes on this one). So there.

Well the umbrellas have launched their manifesto with Papa jay in attendance. I have not read the manifesto so I am not going to comment on it but what I will comment a bit on what Papa Jay said. He asked President Mahama to remove the evil old dwarfs in the NDC. He said loud and clear and I believe all the reporters that covered the event in Ho recorded his words. But what I do not understand is why the statement has been twisted to refer to my William Nana Addo. I do not get it. Do you? Well I believe the umbrellas don't realize that this year, we do not care whatever they say about Nana. They can insult in whatever derogatory manner possible on this planet. We simply do not care. If they will not grow up and focus on issues and refer everything to how God created Nana that is fine. But errrrm who are the dwarfs Papa Jay paaa...he is really something else. I shudder to think the diss words that lie quietly in his head. Greedy bastards, Ata mortuary man, Babies with sharp teeth in dirty water now evil old bastards...haha, you see if the umbrellas were opening their eyes wide, they will see that Papa Jay is causing more harm than good.  But what do I know...I am not even American!

Haha...have a good evening.

Grin!

Tuesday 2 October 2012

2nd October....

Good evening dear reader,

Ete sen. Meho ye nawo ensoso e? First of all lemme send a big shout out to Naija. Yep Omo Naija celebrated it's birthday yesterday. They are a whopping 52 years. Hmmm as you and I know Naija don carry last oo at least in my backyard. My office is close to the Nigerian Ambassadors residence and as at 2 pm yesterday afternoon the music and enjoyment was flowing. My colleagues and I were busy dancing to Yoruba music in the office. Errr please it was lunch break oh before you start looking for my boss's number.

Anyways this week has started out interesting. The NACCOB boss has decided to resign because he feels his outfit has been compromised. But his resignation is different , thought about it and decided to let us know his thoughts. No he hasn't written the letter, he is thought out the thought...mdfskkk. It is all nkura aduro. Nothing else. I hope someone tells him them those days of cantanta are gradually becoming over. Why what was he looking for? That some group will emerge " youth against the resignation of  the NACCOB boss" pls Mr. boss kindly mention the names and stop this because you and i know you are not going any where...But seriously Ghana's day of shame again. Some dudes decided to become rich and tried to send wee street value 4.3 million pounds to Lenden. Pls it is not a typo. It is Lenden innit. But I am puzzled I thought that cocaine was the ish. Hmm . Well I am glad now people trying to be circumspect in their pointing of  fingers. Because if I am to go by the what is good for the goose is equally good for the gander analogy ....won't it be cool then to say that Oga Prez deals in wee. Hahahaaaha. I am happy now all that noise on morality, nepotism and now drugs is paving way for some sort of common sense. Yes the shoe is getting tighter on the other foot no....otwiaaa.

Have you seen my Uncle recently. Ooh I am talking about my Uncle Kofi Wayo. I was reading the papers yesterday and I laughed so hard, I developed a cough. It was in the Daily Graphic. It was about the national women organizer and some other top exec of Chuck Kofi Wayo's party who held a press conference to resign because he is not serious. Yes their reason for leaving the party is simply because he is not a serious person. As I write this I am laughing because I do not even know how to comment on this. Too hilarious. By the way Is he still a board member of ECG or is it GNPC. Ah weiii nyinaa I will be taxed so they can receive sitting allowance. We are really a middle income country. True oo the way we behave only an invisible middle income country like us can do wonderful things like that. I really do not know why people do not stay away from people who talk too much. When I go out to places and I meet people who tend to talk plenty.... trying to be the Sean John of the party I just stare at you and laugh in my head. After all it is always 99.9 percent accurate that the the emptiest barrels make the deafening noise.

Guess what I have my own copies of the 50 shades of Grey trilogy. Thank you ViBa. (grin) it was really thoughtful and I appreciate the extra stuff. The only thing is I have got work tomorrow and there is no way I will not start reading. Tomorrow will be tough. I know I will need an energy booster. Did I hear you say coffee. Coffee! Urgh! It is the most disgusting thing that I have tasted. Yes it comes right after Guiness. Ewww. I get dizzy, my tummy hurts, I want to sleep, Ebei all the reactions I am not supposed to experience coffee finds a way to bring it out. Or I am a villager? Buei ! Then maybe. But speaking of work...have you realized we have a lot of mad men on the street. Like seriously! I cannot stand it. Actually it is one thing I do not hear all the political parties talking about. Building psychiatric hospitals or homes. You see them ie the mad men  walking about in brown tattered clothes, some of the men exposing all sorts of things, the women barefoot carrying all sorts of rubbish it is really an eyesore. I sometimes think, one of them can go haywire and attack the pedestrians? Or it is not possible? It is...who knows what is going on up in there. We need psychiatric hospitals. We do. We need about 10 facilities scattered across Accra alone. Yes. Anybody can get up today and go mad. Even you. And I am sure you do not want to be walking very confused and naked in the streets of Accra. Dey there and shake your head, everybody has some small levels of abodam in them. Sometimes you talk to yourself don't you...stop lying you do...hehehee.

Haha. Have a good evening and yes ooo I will be reporting live from Ho from Thursday. The Umbrellas say they want to launch their manifesto bi like that. Live from the trenches. Yours truly. And please...I am not a journalist.

Haha.

Sunday 30 September 2012

Sunday rumblings...

Blessed Sunday everyone. How are you this morning or should I say what are you up to? Church, sleep, cooking, washing, ironing for the week ahead? Well whatever you are up to, I pray that you have a good day and a good week. I also pray that the Lord gives you grace to achieve whatever it is you set out to achieve this week. It is really by some grace that we are alive and we have strength to move out into the world and try to fulfill our destiny's . Yes I really do pray for the grace and mercy of God into your life's .

My Sunday afternoon is not packed. I have a little cooking to do, a little tiding and a trip to the barber's shop. Yes you heard right barber 's shop. For those who have not seen me before, I have cut my hair. I had hair, got tired of weaves, cut it though I was still relaxing...then I decided to simply cut it. At first I thought I would look funny but strangely enough people are more used to the look than I am. Yes ooo. Well for what it's worth I spend only 20 cedis a month on my hair. 5 cedis at the barber's then 15 cedis to buy a shampoo. Smh. I used to spend close to 500 cedis on my hair in a month. Anyone with a calculator. Mdfskkk . I am gunning for the Amber Rose haircut. For that I have to be brave but I will. Come to think of it it will be a fab look when I drive my Range Rover. Stunning! Hehe.
but hey I appreciate that not everybody has the head like mine for the short look. Ok I am in no way trying to make my sisters look bad. I admire some ladies with their weaves and up dos. Especially if it is kept well. There is nothing more frightening than when you stand or sit beside someone with a smelly, dry weave. Urgh! Vomit look! Hehe. But it is all good.

NaaBia Wei di333 woanye adi3 koraa ah! I have not acknowledged Sarkodie in my blog. Grin! Yes ooo Obidiponbidi got a verified twitter account a couple of weeks ago. What is a verified twitter account? It is when Twitter ( one of the social media platforms) acknowledges the huge following you have on their platform and solidify your status. I have never met Sarkodie heck come to think of it I do not even know his real name ( I hope he is a Kwame) but I am soo proud of him. First of all..he definitely made his style of rapping in twi different..he sort to do a Busta Rhymes type of thing. Then he turned to shy away from all the things that people in his world do when small money gets in their hands...partying every week, booze, women. Do you know that Sarkodie doesn't drink! I soo love him for that. First I thought it was a pr gimmick but all the articles that are done on him and reports I have heard from friends who have been at party's where he is at say he never once picked up alcohol. Big smile!! And he is always pushing...small wonder, BET, MOBO, MTV picked up his trail. I have a small problem with him tho..his lyrics. Sometimes you want to cring! Sometimes you just to hide your head in a pillow. Yea I know rappers use foul words but I wish he could like refrain from that and be different but he is growing and I am sure that he will be reaccesing himself.
As for the rumors that he is illuminati and that he devil worships ....please ! Sometimes success is just what it is....success.

The sun is blazing hot ...kinda reminds you gently that harmattan is around the corner. I think the ozone layer is finished. Done it is. The human race has finally vanquished the ozone layer. Its True oo because these days when the sun burns, it burns with a lot of determination. Oh Vera. Yes I have named the sun Vera. So ooh Vera ibi us wey you burn us like that oh Vera. Haha. Please D Black I do not have money to pay copyright I beg. But err your video for Hoh Vera is very not not. Enkoyie koraa if you think I am lying watch it again...hehe

Another thing do you have light or water? You see because the bodies who are responsible for making sure we have these essentials have tossed us about saaa we are used to not having either light or water or both. My friend Stephanie has even taken it a step further she has memorized the load shedding in her area....hehe oh Vera! Anyways  I have light but I do not have water and I want to slap somebody. We have poly tanks but the water is low so we are virtually praying that the taps come on tonite. You can't clean, you can't cook, using the washroom is cumbersome, the whole house becomes very someway. Just one of these days we will get so upset that we will send all our water bills to the customer care department. Just imagine all the areas in the Greater Accra region that do not have sufficient or is it a adequate supply of water sending all their bills to them. That will be soo hilarious. We should try it sometime. Errrr wait oh am I causing fear and panic....oh Vera. Lmao

Hurray Ghana just scored China. I am not sure if it is the black queens or princesses just walked into the dying minutes of the game but I am so elated. Yes dear China take the two goals and shove it down your throat. Ya sh3 mo. It's sweet.  Errrrm wait have they given us the Chinese loan? Haha

Have a good afternoon....

Saturday 29 September 2012

Truth matters...

It's Saturday...time check 12:14pm and I am not asleep. Frown. I am going through one of those days that you mean to sleep and the bed looks at you and says "it's not happening". Sigh. But join me in sending a huge hug to my friend Afua who is getting married today. Errrr it is an engagement but I call it wedding. Yes the white wedding is Kwesi Broni's tradition. Our tradition is the engagement and all that comes with it. Afua I know you are busy now but if you happen to read this post. I know you were soo beautiful, I am totally in awe of your husband P.K and thank you for letting me be a part of your decor team. Muahz Darling. and yes my reward is wedding cake and lotsa pineapple juice. Haha.

Well much has happened in the last couple of days. The PPP claim they are considering boycotting Joyfm, the NDP executives are trying to convince themselves and us that they are trying to convince NKAR or accept the position of flagbearer and now the NDC my favorite party ever since the I understood the definition of concert party has rescinded their decision not to partake in the IEA debates for presidential candidates. First of all PPP can you give us a HUGE BREAK! Ah! Na adzen. Shrug! First of all if you seek to offer transformational leadership, the last thing you go about doing is boycotting. Boycotting because of what? Unfair treatment you say? Haha! All you people have have is succeeded to make Dr. Nduom look petty and childish. Because once an idea slips out of anybody's mouth then it came from PPP. If anybody coughs then it comes from PPP. Then some statement will come with some plenty brofo , errrrm please the last one you released I was left scratching my head because I didn't understand why I was being asked to ignore a party because it has your ideas. Seriously...! Have you forgetten that even in an exam people in different rooms can write the same answer or now PPP has the ability to read minds ahhhh then let me come so you tell me when I am going to buy my jaguar! Or?  Wait a minute...I know you have your right to boycott, you have your right to do whatever you so please but come closer....yes come closer and let me tell you something, we do not give a hoot about boycotting. Ghanaians are wild ooo. We are struggling with electricity, water, education, social amenities what have you....we need a team that looks like they understand our urgency. If you take pride in boycotting, copyrighting ideas and  writing long statements then please sit somewhere. And ooooh applause for PPP on its decision for running mate. Madam Eva Lokko. Errrrrrm ok me leave it here,  well it was a surprise that I must say but errrrrm ok you let me leave it here. Good luck Madam Lokko. Lord knows you need it.

And NDP please and pretty please we are not children. Kindly credit us with some small intelligence wai. Yepamokyew. You are begging who to do what? So that what? Errrrr none of you , yes my brothers and sisters who call themselves NDP party executives has money to even build a cold store. It's not a diss but you don't. You do not have money to buy or is it build a cold store how much more buy brand new pickups , brand them, build offices and brand them, mount billboards, pay for air time on radio, newspaper ads blah blah blah. Obviously there are some heavy weights behind you...hmmm a good guess is the Papa and Auntie. Because seriously who believes in the cause to end the NDC more than them. And possesses the cash to attempt to do so. Yep! Come to think of it, all the traveling around that my Papa and Auntie have done, I smell fundraising! Oh yes I do, I smell fundraising from friends. Haha! It is always friends who we never see who support causes with  Papa and auntie K. School fees, houses, cars ....it is always friends. Hmmm I have learnt to stop trying to figure out who the friends are, but I beg as for this trying to convince business di333  kindly tell it to the marines. It is not working! Infact I think Auntie K should hire a PR team because the element of surprise that she seeks to create with her public decision always kind of backfires. The elena of surprise rather lies with Papa. Yes we always want to know what he will say or do. And usually he doesn't dissappoint. Haha. But in all I raise my glass to Auntie. She has been very forgiving with Papa Kufuor. It's healthy. All the bad blood has to end somewhere, yes it is good kiss and makeup between those two. I believe the organizers of IMAGIN events have the praise for that. Their Lumba and Amakye Dede concerts have been very helpful. Because after all the drama Ghana is the reason why we are in politics. Yes that is the common sense approach. We must learn to be civil towards each other.

I saved the best for last. The National Democratic Congress. Eye zuuuuu, ey3 zaaaaaa. Herhhh you people are so so funny. Seriously every week my day is made. Let me tackle the decision to partake in the IEA decision. Yes only a fool does not change his mind. But why on earth would you want to be a fool. For what reason...someone kindly tell me. At this time I think no I rather believe the NDC thinks the election is between them and NPP.  And that the NPP is just the opposition party who sit opposite them  in Parliament. Mdfskkkk...sorry to burst your bubble but the election is convincing the entire Nation that you need to be in charge to lead the country into positive areas. Everything that they do is a fight against the NPP meanwhile they forget that Ghanaians are watching them.  Dear NDC you knew very well that your decision not to partake in the IEA was simply because the president at the time was not well. And no not well is not just a sore throat. The cancer had advanced. Visibly his health was deteriorating, audibly his voice was long gone. But look at the front you put up. Incredible, just incredible. Attacking the credibility of the IEA. Saying that some of the individuals who sit on the panel are NPP, completely bastardizing the presidential debates the IEA will organize soon. And to what extent....now you are back? Why is it because the man who was then president is dead? Pause? Come back to my question and see how narrow minded your actions and I actions have made you look. But me I am happy because I want that platform to be able to access the presidents and vice presidential hopefuls. I want that presidential debate process to be deepened and form a integral part of deciding who becomes our leader. I am not too worried about my presidential candidate Nana Addo I know he will be fantastic. He understands his issues and besides it is his issues that has led to discussions (some immature) on what aspiring leaders should  do for the if elected.  I am not worried about my vice presidential candidate Dr. Bawumia but I am waiting for his encounter with the rest especially Mr. Amissah Arthur.

I cannot wait for Dr. Bawumia to show the rest of Ghana what I already know and am proud of..yes I know this is a financial genius ( please who ever understands Math more than i do is a financial genius) who accepts that he is human, who doesn't run away from theory books or practical applications and who clearly understands that whoever holds the rein of governance from January of next year has soo much work to do. If nothing at all when he came out with a statement about the true state of economic affairs of the country, after all the insults and by force rejoinder from the Statiscal Service, the World Bank had the Satistical service rebase the basket ...that must tell you something. For me, I think the choice of Veep is critical because he heads the economic management team. We know how our country was under veep Mahama, we know how our finances have been under governor Arthur I shudder to think what it would be under veep Arthur. Yes the choice of veep is the most critical for me this election. As for president I have the firm believe Nana Addo would not tolerate the nonsense that have creeped in to the presidency. We need a firm hand, and for me I see that in my William. Haha yes Mr. Woyogate, you will pay back the money.

And please do I hear that we have a new issue with Ibrahim Mahama,  Oga Prez , Engineers and Planners, SSNIT and Merchant Bank. Hmmm Chief Kufuor come for a stone, Papa Kufuor come for  Kente wai. I will dedicate an entire post to this topic because I must explain the  hotel Kufuor and Engineers Planners thingy as I understand it. But till then I will say that I love the law of Karma. I love the law of getting back what you sow. Now some of us do not talk plenty about morality now we will be silent about nepotism.  And yes next time when the babies with sharp teeth are spitting dirty water..you will look for dettol and vim to scrub the filth.
Yes morality and nepotism are big issues that need to be addressed in our politic but the approach, the
falsehood have paved way for it to be used as a tool for propaganda, as a tool for disgracing and as a
tool for shredding reputations to bits. Now let's see how the shoe fits on the other side.

Time check now it's 7:42pm. What to do on a cold Saturday nite? Any ideas! Well thank you for reading...

Have a lovely evening everyone. Beautiful weather....no?!

Tuesday 25 September 2012

The cake in me... ;)

Please if you don't like sugar don't read and blast me. Mepakyew wai. I know that sugar is bad.Yes I know there is diabetes in this world. I know there is sickness that is induced by sugar...yes it is called candiasis yes I know so I beg please don't shake your head. Cake can be eaten in correct portions so as not to induce any illness besides I believe what I will use to smoke and drink I will rather eat cake. Heheee...this post was a work in progress. I had it sitting on my desktop for two whole weeks (scratching head) And I do not even understand why I did that. It is not a dramatic title too. It is simply about my absolute adoration for cake. Well i might as well finish it now. I am the cake boss in my family. Oooo there is this guy I love soo much. He is called Buddy. He is Italian and he makes amazing cakes.

OMG!! He has a show called The Cake Boss. Sometimes I am soo mad that the nerds and the IT guys still haven't figured a way for us to grab stuff from the TV as it is happening. Lmao. Buddy is amazing and it is a family business. His father was a pastry chef and passed the shop and the talent on to him. Ohhhhhh and Buddy does all sorts of things with cakes. A train, a house, a car, an aeroplane, shoes, errr just think of anything Buddy and his team of nephews, sisters and cousins will sort you out. America fo) chilli paaa. Back to earth NaaBia... errr where was I? Yes  i am the cake boss at home. It is so hilarious to the point that if there is an occasion in my house, I am the to go to person on all things cake. I can bake too thanks to my mother but honestly it has been ages since i did that. I hardly get time from Monday to Friday and on weekends all i want to do is sleep. Ahhh sleep. But we have come a long way in Ghana, yes the days  when roll on icing ruled are gone or is it going and when Bakeshop was the only ish available.

Urgh roll on icing....vomit look. Not only does roll on icing not melt in your mouth, it is hard and can get stuck in your teeth. Argh that is why I cannot stand some wedding cakes. Ah wedding cake with hard icing, wedding cake with raisins....and when I get the mixture of the two, my heart simply breaks. It's like I am a bride who has been left at the altar. Hehe exagerration eh! But seriously wedding cakes should be fun and not boring. Wedding cakes should be divine so that after one year...you can launch your mouth again or? Saaa pepepe. ei but do you remember when Bakeshop was the ish. But now there are new divas in town. I will come to them later. It was truly refreshing to get cakes with everything edible, really  refreshing to get cakes with icing that does wonders to your taste buds. I really think Bakeshop has maintained their consistency! Do you agree ! If you have ever eaten their cakes you would realize that it never changes. The taste remain the same and you are assured of quality and fresh. That I give them a huge thumbs up. I think the word for Bakeshop is conservative. Yes I think that's it.  They are the Republican version of cakes in aghana. Please I gave them that name ooo. Don't go and say it so that if trouble come then you mention my name ooo. Lmao.

As I said there are new divas in town. I have sampled Cakes from Frimpsey and the ever popular Kareena. Let me start with  Kareena. Her cakes that I have ordered and eaten and eaten from others (  hehegeee) are not themed but they are Oooh so lovely. What!!! It's soft it's spongy, and you definitely get the different flavors that she is working with. Very rich but light. I really wonder how she does it. also her finishing touch it's not soo dramatic but the ribbon with the writing on it,the whipped cream the layers of chocolate mousse. Yum yum! And Oooh Frimpsey I absolutely adore her though I have never met her. My order was late, she didn't freak out and she made the cutest cupcakes ever. I made a mistake on that. I should have taken pictures so that you see she did. It was Patrick's bday and on each cake she had shirts, a tie, cute manly suff that made eating the cake real sinful. Her cake decorations are well artwork.  She makes real themed cakes like my Italian chef Buddy. Apart from the normal, vanilla, strawberry, black forest, chocolate ei she can do rum, marble, baileys some combinations bi....hehe!
Amen to the art of confectionery. these are the kind of cakes someone like yours truly will want to order for a wedding.

Alright I think I am done now. I can post this in peace. And eiii who watched miss Mailaika on Sunday. I did and I was soo happy to see Debra Jane Nelson. She is as usual a Facebook person I have not met but she really impressive. She was soo honest, Infact brutally. If anyone from Chaterhouse wants a new spank in their pageants then  people like Debra should be regular judges.
Well I guess it is goodnite and I hope everybody sleeps well.

Have a good nite or is it morning, deepening on the time length you read this ;)

Karma

Good evening...on my way home. No I am not driving. Smh before any of you decide to run to MTTU. I am with a colleague and actually she inspired this short post. We are actually just infront of TV3 in some painful traffic. Neways I am used to traffic in the evenings now. Yes ooo because there is nothing that I can do about it. Sometimes I want to zap the cars, sometimes I want to push the cars, sometimes I want to fly over the cars...no I am not mad ooo. Haha I am very alright.

Anyways we were talking about the sex tape that is yet to be released. Hmm apparently some people claim they have a tape that contains explicit details about Oga. We were both wondering if it really exists, we were both wondering if it was necessary and we were both wondering how all of a sudden the umbrellas have stopped preaching about morals. Smh tsk tsk what you do not want somebody to do to you, you do not do to others. Now who is at the receiving end of the jokes and insults. I remember asking my umbrella friends that all this womanizing things they were accusing Nana Addo off he never had any woman come up and say these are his children out of wedlock.? Or this is the child that is out of wedlock who his wife doesn't like. We never heard that. We never heard that Nana Addo had or rather has a number of children through adultery and is now at peace with his wife never. What we rather heard was distortions to jokes he cracked and distortions to some GTV tape.
When all these distortions were happening there was deafening silence, there was no rebuke. Young men and women who on a good day couldn't even look Nana Addo in the eye ridiculed him and there was silence.

Ooh Gizele Yazzi! Ei what didn't they do to Papa Kufuor. Insults, jokes without a shred of evidence. All sorts of derogatory comments. Meanwhile the woman and her twins never appeared, no woman came out and said she had had children with Papa Kufuor and yes all the children he has came from Mama Tess.  You see how Karma is. It will go round and come back to you and in this case it is going to hit Oga  Prez very hard. Hmmm I am feel for Mrs Oga, she is going to be reminded of  so many things, the children are going to have to toughen up and endure the fall out from all of this.
The coming weeks will be interesting so some people will have to toughen up. I wish them luck and next time when something is not right, let's just accept that it is not well.

Just got to Tetteh Quarshie. This is just a short post. Yep just a few thoughts I had to share like ASAP. Anyways Oga will address the UN I believe tomorrow...well infront of the UN I will give him a big shout out. I pray his handlers find him a sharp suit and tie, I pray he speaks with confidence befitting of a President yes because at the end of the day he is the Primus Interpares. The first man of Ghana.
Have a good evening

See you tomorrow.

Nkrumahists with Rolex Watches

Hello Hello everybody, Happy Breezy Tuesday everybody…yeah right! who am I kidding? I am in no way happying myself on a Tuesday. It is still too early. wharris that? Tuesday…maybe Thursday when the week is about ending.  (Grin).

Sometimes I do not know why, in this case me complain about Monday's Tuesday's and Wednesday's.  It is not as if the days will evaporate any time soon. But seriously there is just something about the day Monday… lemme think ermmmm it’s like plain cake without custard. Urgh very boring and bland. No?! How did you spend your long weekend? Oh yes errrm those of us in Ghana had a long weekend. Friday was Founder’s Day. Some day it was for me. Medaye papa enye easy. I slept soo much there was no sleep left in me again. Even my bed was frowning me. But errrr I was wondering where Brand Ghana was?  Brand Ghana is an outfit supposed to promote and highlight the brand known as Ghana and everything that comes with it. And so? Where was the noise about its leaders and founders? These are the very things they should have capitalized on. Our brand “Ghana” came from our founder or is it founders who fought for our identity as a nation. For our existence as a people, our existence on the map of Africa and on that of the world. They do not even understand what they are branding and they say brand Ghana. Yawn! Such things you do not talk plenty…Causing Financial Loss to the State anyone?!

But is it Founder’s or Founders’?  You know how I say we can be petty….this is one of my scenarios. Nobody is taking Kwame Nkrumah and what he did away from Kwame Nkrumah. Nobody is taking away the zeal, passion and intelligence away from him but why do some of us want to behave as if the day he got to Ghana and the following day there was independence. We know that is not what happened but (lmao as usual) we are pretending because what….because the other’s are imperialists. Because the others connived with the CIA to remove the god?  And that the imperalists have caused the downfallof Ghana.....(hahahahahahahaaahha). When will we realize that as a nation, everything that had transpired good or bad is a lesson, the ultimate reason to move forward? Petty and archaic that should be our middle name. Even Nelson Mandela accepted his Noble Prize with De Clarke.  Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and let posterity judge. Book no lie abi, History can never be distorted even if people pretend to have selective amnesia.  Instead of coming together as a nation, going through records of all that transpired in that era and accepting the contribution of everybody naaaaah... we close our eyes and behave like ostriches.
That is why we are where we are, nobody wants to acknowledge what somebody has done because he or she doesn’t have his name on it. Yes ooo biara pe ne 10%. I dare say, that in most of the advanced countries who value their roots and history….they celebrate anybody who contributed to their existence as a nation. There is proper documentation of each person’s two cents whether it is good or bad. For me I am happy those who have been tagged as imperialists ie friends and families of the BIG 5 have just watched quietly over the years.  Yes I am soo happy that they do not fight, bicker and disturb for recognition. It is not important koraa.  it is rather funny to watch the supporters of the big 1, dance and try to out prove themselves as to who are the true Nkrumahists. As my friend Nana Glover aptly put it we now have a new league of Nkrumahists. Yep Nkrumahists with Gold Rolex watches. Animal farm. Mdfskkkk and they do not even know that in their cause to make the intelligent Osagyefo more immortal than they already have, they are slowly beginning to make his name and legacy boring and ohhh so annoying. Waa look at some of the break out groups who supposedly bleed Nkrumah who contesting in this year's election? huh? I dey lie???

Lemme go back to founder’s day…I chanced upon the programme as I was flipping through the channels on television. Yes that day…I was Queen B once more.  I had the remote control in my hands. Anigye nkoaaa. So I gleefully sat auto tuning all my favorite programmes for the night. I think one of my fav’s was a few minutes away so I decided to find out what was on GTV our station of the nation (chuckling). There I heard some weird by force reggae group singing on TV. Hmmm interesting I thought …so I decided to spare a few minutes to see what they were up to. I listened, tuned off after a while. Ha-ha it was too communist for me. Ooo I heard I missed the lecture from the main speaker - didnt even catch his name. How sad. I wanted to comrade myself. Please that night they are all called comrades. So me too I became Comrade Amma. That must be the sign of love between Nkrumahists. (I promise I have a straight face on). Dr Yao Graham of African Network (Eish is that the name of his NGO...Hmm) gave an interesting lecture. It was the about the state of growth from independence to present day. He took a look at cases from within Africa specifically the West African hub. Even though it was the normal compare and contrast thing with China, Singapore and the famous word in Ghana hahaaa Asian tigers. It was interesting. At least the way he put it. It was after him that I tuned off….then I came back. Then I was blinded by Mr. Comrade Kwesi Pratt. Mr. Pratt needs a whole editorial, a whole book, a whole encyclopedia.
If Oga Prez has eyes he will see, If Oga Prez has eyes he will hear and if Oga Prez wants to carve a niche for himself he must run. He must run like the world is ending. Initially when I wanted to write this piece I was in my mood of free your mind. But as I wrote and got to this point I feel sad and sorry. The speech, the mood, the demeanor just stuck me as a defeatist approach to a lost cause. Yes! It’s like how Pastors have turned to gods and left God and Jesus behind in the corner. You just look at the congregation and shake your head. So here I shake my head and laugh.

You know in one of my recent posts, I made a comment about how I was watching National Geographic and how Cuba was changing, yes they loved Castro to bits but they were changing and dancing a different tune. As i watched this i thought of Mr. Pratt and i imagined him watching this very documentary and instantly blaming the imperalists. Imperialists meanwhile he can sit with them and talk about Nana Akufo Addo. Oooh Wikileaks really worried some people in Ghana. Kokonsa nkoa. What is happening to Julian Assange now? hmm I have to track my BBC antenna on him again. But in as much as the communists want to pretend the world has not changed. Its really has. It has nothing to do with Capitalism, Socialism, Free Market blah blah now its about survival. As an individual, as a family, as a nation and as a world.  And that survival depends on common sense whether in the provision of social amenities, the provision of technology, the provision of whatever. Yes you think about it... every day hustling up and down what is it really about what? The thing is... it is time we accept that we have to apply common sense to make our country great and strong. Or it is not that simple?
How many days is it to elections? Arent you excited as I am...hmmm Errrr please i beg. The umbrellas if you do not support SHS that is fine but I beg. Kindly do not send those whose English need prayers and excorcists to talk against it. That indeed begs the question..peharps if they had free SHS they would have had the chance to speak well.
Back to work everybody its 1.45pm.
My lunch break is over but errr has Nana Konadu accepted the position of Flagbearer yet?
Lmao..breathe easy Umbrellas. Eye Zuuuuu

Musings on a Saturday nite ;)

Timecheck 5:45PM

it's Saturday....whoooop! Just that Monday is coming. Dull whoooop. I do not understand why we cannot add Monday to the weekend. I just do not get it. We have been able to create fantastic gadgets but we cannot just agree to add Monday to the weekend ....frown! oh my days. Please I am not lazy but Monday has something about it. Infact the weekend has its own weather tantrums, saturday is hot and sunny with the hours running fast, sunday is dull and slow with hours creeping and waving hi. Ha! Anyways what are you up too? Football? Market? Sleep? How did your day go or rather how has your day been up to this point of 5:50 PM?

I woke up to an interesting Morning, I am a twitter and Facebook addict as you already know so when I wake up in the morning one of the first things I do is to check my phone and IPad for trending topics....sometimes I think my craving for news will kill me. But seriously election year always has it spunk, whilst locally you are trying to deal with NPP and NDC  internationally you are also dealing with the American Elections. The American elections is special to me because of Obama. Yes I am biased and happily so, he is black? Yes that is my selfish joy for all the slave trade nonsense we were put through. For me if he doesn't deliver koraa enfa meho as long as the racists look up and call him president.. Gleeful laugh. Ok ok I know he must deliver, America is one of the biggest economies in the world( please I cannot say they are the biggest errrrm China has overed them plenty in that area)  and as a leader what you say you will do if elected, you must deliver at all costs. Ohhhh I hope my friend Enam Eyiah doesn't read this, she will kill me. I remember something I posted up on Facebook and twitter after Obama's speech and frankly I am yet to recover from the questions she asked me. Sheesh. But I still adore her and to think I have never met her. The power of the Internet!

So as I was saying I woke up to an interesting article or is it news piece from my joy online about the President of the land H. E. John Dramani Mahama apologizing to the Presbyterian church on behalf of the government communicators and spokespersons. Hahaaaaaaaaaha. Aww John D. They are worrying you eh. Don't mind them ok, next time when you are in charge as Vice President and they go about talking by heart do not turn the deaf ear...call them to order. Yes o, our president has decided to apologize on behalf of the by force resignee of the church and also Mr. Baba Jamal or is it Honourable Baba Jamal. No hon. Jamal is not a Christian, he is a practicising Muslim. He was offering his opinion on the church's position. Hmmm church's position...smh. Well if you want to mess with anyone, not the church, not a pastor, not the clergy and not especially not their moderator. Because once they stand in the pulpit and preach for two hours on Sunday, during midweek service, during revivals, during conferences and you become a topic, and you become the vice as noted in the Good Book...ah forget koraa. You are a goner. And mind you this is not any other church, it is one of the oldest churches in Ghana with a large following. And as Shakespeare rightly put it, you have no way of knowing what a person is thinking so how do you know if all the members nationwide are NPP or if they ate NDC? Hubris! Hubris! Hubris! Ah the bane of man... But Mr. President hopes that his apology will be taken in good faith and that it will end all the resignations....heheee Ohhhh he didn't say that he said he hopes it will cease fire. Well Oga I wish you luck in that department. These are the  people who made president Mills RIP very unpopular and because no one stopped them, their wings are bigger than the angels in heaven so yes I really wish you luck. I can only imagine the thoughts running through your head....aww let  Ghanaians make me president I will sack them.  But errrrm the thing is some of us do not want you and your party.Heheee. Hmmm. Yes Mr. President we know you can't sack them now..that will be politically suicidal, no? Ah I think I have to look at you again ooo, I must check the grey hairs on your head.  It is a tough, as my Nigerians friends will say.

But on a lighter note, I absolutely love your bar area in your house. Smh. No I have not been to his house but when Mrs. Clinton came for the funeral he took her round his house and the pictures revealed an excellent bar area. Leather seats...yum yum. Wonye bad. Ohhhh come off it...you who is shaking your head..when something is nice say it ooo ton. We should not be petty. Speaking of petty when will you move from the slave trade castle to the jubilee house. Oga I heard you formed a committee this kno be committee matter, close your eyes and move there. Ghanaians we will talk, me like this I will laugh at you and your party but at the end of the day....what are you? Yes you are the President of the Republic of Ghana. Primus Interpares! Massa move....Ahba! Wei ensoso ye asem!

Eiiii and NDP has done what? NDP has got its certicate to contest in this years elections? Smh again. Today I am really shaking my head....well for those who do not know, NDP is the National Democratic Party. It is made up of supporters of the champions of vendetta Mr and Mrs Rawlings. Kweeee the Rawlingses are more than Al Capone. You might mess with them now but  If it takes 50 years for them to make a case they will. Aunty Konadu all the way. Awww John D. Eh?! We must check his grey hairs oooo this stress is too much. But the Rawlingses have not been bold to declare if that is their party or not. Be Bold! Tsoo boi... Do i hear a Ye? Since they received the certificate their executives have been running around saying they hope she accepts the position as their flag bearer.  The coming weeks will be so interesting eh. Already one of the members of parliament under the umbrella flag who has fallen out with the current government has set the pace. Yes Micheal Teye Nyawonu has declared the government ministers as corrupt and as people who have amassed wealth in three years. Ah and he mentioned names. Ohhhh trouble don come. Next week di333 he is dead . Dissing be what. Well since he lost his bid to recontest for parliament in this year's election I am sure in his mind he has nothing to lose. So he is firing from all cylinders...hehe

You see why politics is sweet. Idey bi keke. Never a boring week especially in the beautiful Ghana that we live in.
Time check...it's exactly 6:46 pm so it is Jollof time. I am going to bless myself with Jollof from Aunty Charity. Aunty Charity is Patrick's mother and she makes one of the craziest jollofs in town. Eiiii stop coughing yes she is asew konofo. Haha but seriously she is amazing, her gargen egg stew is sosket! Wele, tuna, salmon and things.  But today it is jollof time. After eating what will I do? Dunno yet but the nite is sure young! Wink!
Have a good evening people and remember not to drive drunk. Today the rates of accidents is so frightening. I had a scare today tho with of my friends... Xose Kakane .  I saw a lookalike of his car that had turned upside down. Patrick and I were so frightened we called him and he was fine, and no it was not him. That had me thinking again that I really do not try. I hardly call and check up on people. Bad habit. Shameful look. Well I guess I know what to do now.

Tonight is Amake Dede's concert.....serrrrrrrrrrrrious. Love that dude! He is just fantastic , the energy he brings on stage, his live band performances. Thats why i call him dude...)ye guy keke. Yes he is truly a legend. And ohh he drives a range rover. Muahz. Sealed the deal for me koraaa. Will I be there no...but I hope everybody who attends sure has a fabulous time.

Have a good evening once again

Love

Me.
